Designer Memory Monitoring Plugin

Application Scenario

This plugin is mainly for real-time monitoring and manual cleaning of the memory in the designer. You can use the plugin to avoid a sudden freeze caused by excessive memory, as well as to generate a dump.hprof file for memory analysis.

Plugin Installation

You can obtain the plugin at Designer Memory Monitoring.

Procedure

After you install the plugin, a floating ball will be generated in the designer, which displays the current memory usage and proportion in the designer.

If you hover over the floating ball, operation tips will appear.

If you click the ball, the memory will be reclaimed.

If you double-click the ball and click OK, a memory analysis file dump.zip will be generated. You can use the memory analysis tool - MAT (Memory Analyzer Tool) for memory analysis. The file is generated in the path as shown in the following figure.

When you double-click the ball, a prompt "After memory reclamation starts, the designer may be stuck. Wait patiently." will be displayed. The dump.zip file will not be generated for memory analysis until you click Yes.
