    Function Description

As the capability module for agents' cross-platform reach, IM tool connection allows the agents to be bound to bots in third-party instant messaging (IM) tools, enabling the agents to interact with users through these third-party platforms.

    Application Scenario

    (1) In a one-on-one chat scenario, users can start a private chat with the Dora bot in an IM tool, which is suitable for personal daily data queries.

    (2) In a group chat scenario, users can mention (@) the Dora bot to initiate data queries or report generation, which is suitable for team collaboration scenarios.

    (3) Message card design: The IM bot replies in a rich text message card containing key numbers and simple charts (bar/line charts).

    Effect Demonstration

Taking the group chat scenario in WeCom as an example, mention (@) the Dora bot and send a question. The bot will reply in real time, as shown in the following figure.

    Bot Configuration

    Bot Configuration Per IM Platform

For details about how to configure bots, refer to WeCom Bot Connection, Lark Bot Connection, DingTalk Bot Connection, and Teams Bot Connection.

    Configuration Verification

Take the WeCom bot as an example. After the configuration is completed, you can send a test message to the bot in WeCom to check whether the interaction is working properly. To modify the configuration, locate the corresponding bot in the Connected IM Tool list and click Configure to re-edit the configuration.

    Notes

    (1) A multi-round chat with context always kept is supported. Users can ask follow-up questions continuously. The bot will provide coherent answers based on the previous context.
