Divide data analysis users and   data processing users among design users

    2. Function introduction

In order to match the user's positioning with the functions used in BI and enable professional people to do professional work, BI is divided into two types of design users. The responsibilities of different user types are shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_21-48-55.png

    3. Recommendations for use

Different types of users have different analysis dimensions and assigned permissions. The following are the recommended usage methods for user types:

    Recommended way

In the case of adding the base table only with the   super administrator

In the case where multiple people in the information department jointly add the basic table

The data quality is not high and the system management   strategy is not perfect

    All use data processing users

    All use data processing users

High data quality and perfect system data management

All data analysis users except super administrators

The information department uses the processing user,   and the business personnel uses the analysis user

Note 1: It is suggested that a small number of administrators are data processing users, and salesmen are assigned as data analysis users.

Note 2: A user can only be added to one of BI viewing users, BI data processing users or data analysis users. Users added to BI design users will have viewing permissions by default. The super administrator defaults to the data processing user.

    Ⅱ. Data analysis users

In the default state of the BI project, that is , the data analysis users and data processing users under the PC-side user, viewing user, design user, and data processing users are all set to an unlimited number of users, and all users are default data analysis users. For details, please refer to: User Management

    1. Add users

    1) Click Manage > User> Platform User . Before adding a user as a design user, the user needs to be added to the PC user , otherwise the user cannot log in to the data decision system. As shown below:

    2022-07-13_21-51-59.png

    2) Check Restrict users and click OK , as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_21-55-45.png

Note: Platform usage user restrictions are related to registration information. For details, please refer to: Difference between FineBI Registration and Unregistered

    3) Add the Anna user to the PC-side users, clickComplete, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_21-57-38.png

    4) Select BI User >BI Design User > Data Analysis User, click Edit User,as shown in the following figure:

    5) Click the Anna user to add it to the selected user, and click again in the selected user to restore it to the un-added state, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-06-09.png

    6) You can see the user under the data analysis user, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-08-38.png

    2. Effect View

    1) Log in to the account of the Anna user, and you can see that the user can not only view the authorized catalog dashboard, but also has a dashboard node, and can create a dashboard, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-16-02.png

    2) Data analysis users can also enter data preparation and create self-service Dataset and EXCEL Dataset in my self- service Dataset , as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-19-47.png

Note: Processing users can see tables created by analysis users, but cannot use fields from tables created by optional analysis users when creating self-service datasets.

    3) Self-service Dataset and EXCEL Dataset can also be added under the business package with editing authority , as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-32-00.png

    4) The self-service Dataset created by the data analysis user inherits the permissions by default , that is, the permissions of the basic table used are the same, and only the creator and super administrator of the self-service dataset have the configuration permission of permission inheritance. For details of permission inheritance configuration, please refer to Permission Inheritance . Establishing associations is not supported, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-34-38.png

For details, see: Self-Service Datasets (Data Analysis Users)

    Ⅲ. Data processing users

    1. Add users

    1) Click Manage > User > Platform User , before adding a user as a design user, the user needs to be added to the PC user user , and the hanwen user is added to the PC user, the steps are the same as in Section 3.1, as shown below shown:

    2. Effect View

    1) Log in to the account of the hanwen user, you can see that the user can not only view the authorized directory dashboard, but also has a dashboard node, and can create a dashboard, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_23-09-55.png

    2) Data processing users can also enter the data preparation and create my self-help dataset and EXCEL Datasetin Self- service Dataset, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_23-14-43.png

    3) Under the business package with editing authority , basic tables and self-service datasets can be added, including all types of basic tables: Database Table ,SQL Datasetand EXCEL Dataset, as shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_23-16-38.png

Note: Adding database tables and SQL datasets requires access to the corresponding data connection. For details, see: Data Connection Control

    4) For the nature of self-service datasets created by data processing users, see: Self-service datasets (data processing users)

    Ⅳ. Precautions

    1. Comparison of user types

The operation functions supported by different user types are shown in the following figure:

    2022-07-13_22-25-24.png

Note: For details of data analysis self-service data set and data processing self-service data set, please refer to: data processing user self-service data set , data analysis user self-service data set

    2. Registered User Restrictions

If the registration file is an unlimited number of users, you need to enable restricted users in the platform users first and then configure the users. Otherwise, by default, all users have platform use, BI viewing, BI design and mobile platform permissions.
