Displays characters to numeric codes

1. Overview

1.1 Expected Effect

Sometimes users need to display the "text" character corresponding to the "value" field. For example, convert two columns of numerical values into character display corresponding to numerical values, and splice the two columns of data together, as shown in the following figure:

1.2 Implementation Ideas

Use the self-service dataset to add new columns and add the CHAR function.

At the same time, use the CONCATENATE function to realize the splicing function.

2. Operation Steps

Sample data:char.xlsx

2.1 Create Self-Service Dataset

Upload the sample data to Finebi, as shown in the following figure:

Add a self-service dataset and select the "number 1" and "number 2" fields under the "char" dataset, as shown in the following figure:

2.2 New Columns

Click "+" to add a new column, as shown in the following figure:

The name of the named field is "Turn Num to Char", enter the function CONCATENATE(CHAR(${number1}),CHAR(${number2})), and click "OK", as shown in the following figure:

Note: the functions and fields in the formula box need to be selected by clicking the selection area on the left, and cannot be entered manually.
