Calculate time difference

1 Overview

1.1 Expected effect

Sometimes users need to calculate time difference between two time data. For example, we need to calculate the difference between "contract signing time" and "registration time", as shown in the following figure:

1.2 Implementation ideas

Implement with the function DATESUBDATE.

Select "New column>Time difference" in the self-service dataset to achieve the purpose.

2. Add new column to calculate time difference

Our example uses "Contract Fact Sheet".

2.1 Create self-service dataset

Create self-service dataset, and select "Contract Fact Sheet". Select all fields, as shown in the following figure:

2.2 Calculate time difference

Click "+" to add "New column", as shown in the figure below:

Name the newly added column as "Time Difference-Day", click "time difference", set time difference equals "Contract Signing Time-Registration Time", select "day", and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

Just save or go on with your self-service dataset analysis.

3. Implement with DATESUBDATE function

3.1 Implement with self-service data set

3.1.1 Create self-service dataset

Similar to section 2.1, we create a self-service dataset, as shown in the figure below:

3.1.2 Use function to calculate time difference

Click "+" to add "New column", as shown in the figure below:

Name the newly added column as "Time Difference-Day", click "Formula/Function", enter the formula DATESUBDATE (Contract Signing Time, Registration Time, "d"), and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

Note: The functions and fields in the formula box need to be selected by clicking the selection area on the left, and cannot be entered manually.

Just save or go on with self-service dataset analysis.

3.2  Implement with sashboard

3.2.1 Create Dashboard

Click "Dashboard> New Dashboard", name and select the storage location, and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

3.2.2 Use function to calculate time difference

"Add component" and select "Contract Fact Sheet", click "+" to add a calculation field, enter the formula DATESUBDATE(contract signing time, registration time, "d"), and click "OK", as shown below:

3.2.3 Effect view

Drag the corresponding fields into the analysis area, the effect is shown in the figure below:
