Show both current and previous year's data

1. Overview

1.1 Expected effect

Sometimes users need to display indicator data of different years in one chart at the same time. For example, they need to display the monthly amount data of 2008 and 2009 in the same chart, as shown in the following figure:

1.2 Solution

Set a detailed filter for "AMOUNT", the filter condition is setting "SIGNDATE" to "2008";

Copy the "AMOUNT" indicator, set a filter, and the filter condition is setting "SIGNDATE" to "2009";

Drag two "AMOUNT" indicators into the indicator and "SIGNDATE" into the dimension, select "Contrast Column Chart", and set the condition for the vertical axis to "indicator juxtaposition".

Sample data: "Package>ORDERS".

2.1 Set up detail filter for "AMOUNT"

Create a new dashboard and select "ORDERS" to create a component, enter the component editing interface, set a "Detail Filtering" for "AMOUNT", and the filter condition is setting "SIGNDATE" to "2008", as shown in the following figure:

Copy the "AMOUNT" indicator, as shown in the figure below:

Set a "Detail Filtering", the filter condition is setting "SIGNDATE" to "2009", as shown in the following figure:

2.2 Make a chart

Drag "SIGNDATE", "AMOUNT" "AMOUNT1" into the analysis area, as shown in the figure below:

Set the grouping basis of "SIGNDATE" to "month", as shown in the figure below:

Select the chart type as "Contrast Column Chart", hover the mouse on the field, and click to modify the field name, as shown in the following figure:

Drag the "TargetName" into the "color", as shown in the figure below:
