Indicator disassembly method of data analysis

3.1 Clarify analysis objectives

The first step in disassembling data indicators is to clear analysis objectives.

For example, there are now two objectives to be achieved:

3.2 Identify problems

After clearing analysis objectives, it is necessary to determine the problems to be solved around the goal in order to achieve the goal. You can use the mind map to write out the problems after seeing the goal.

3.3 Disassembly problem (determine calculation formula)

After identifying problems, we need to find indicators that can measure these problems numerically, and how to calculate them.

3.4 Dismantling indicators & expanding dimension layout

If the calculation method is determined, the factors affecting these calculation formulas can be explored by analyzing the indicators that make up these calculation formulas. For example, sales = unit price * quantity, then the change of sales can be analyzed from "unit price" and "quantity", and the change of other indicators can be analyzed and compared quantitatively with one indicator.

At the same time, taking the calculation formula results as indicators, expand dimensions (such as region, time, category, etc.) to explore the indicator differences under different dimensions.
