Table grouping

1.2 Application scenarios

When users need to group and classify dimension fields in a table, they can use the table grouping.

For example, the user can group the date by year, or change it to group by date.

1.3 Function introduction

The grouping table and cross table support grouping function, and the schedule cannot be grouped.

Take the cross table as an example, the sample data uses data "FRDemo_ORDERS".

1) Use the "FRDemo_ORDERS" to create a component, as shown in the following figure:

2) Make a cross table, as shown in the figure below:

Grouping table and cross table perform the same item as a group by default.

For example, by default, the "PAYMETHOD" has merged the same field items into three categories, as shown in the following figure:

User-defined groups can add new groups by themselves, and perform operations such as reclassification of existing groups.

3.1 Example

For example, to customize the above "PAYMETHOD", group "DHL" and "UPS" into one group, and name it "DHL&UPS".

1) Select "drop-down>custom grouping", as shown in the figure below:

2) Add the group "DHL&UPS", as shown in the figure below:

3) Move "DHL" and "UPS" to the "DHL&UPS" group, and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

3.2 Effect view

"DHL" and "UPS" are merged into "DHL&UPS", as shown in the figure below:

If the dimension field is a numeric field, the default is the interval grouping setting. (The dimensions of numeric fields need to be obtained by converting indicators into dimensions)

4.1 Make a grouping table

1) Convert "AMOUNT" into dimensions, as shown in the following figure:

2) Select the chart type as "Group Table", and drag the field into the analysis area, as shown in the figure below:

3) Click the drop-down of "Amount", you can see that the system has stayed as "interval grouping setting", as shown below:

The user has two interval grouping methods in the interval grouping setting: custom grouping and auto grouping.

4.2 Custom grouping

Enter the group setting page, as shown in the figure below:

4.2.1 Example

For example, to divide the "amount" into two ranges "0-100000" and "100000---unrestricted", and name them "small order" and "large order", you can set the grouping as shown in the figure below:

4.2.2 Effect view

You can see that the "Amount" field is divided into small orders and large orders, as shown in the following figure:

4.3 Auto grouping

4.3.1 Example

Click "drop-down" on the group setting page to select auto grouping, as shown in the figure below:

On the auto grouping page, you can set the interval interval and automatically obtain the number of groups. For example, set the interval interval to 40000, as shown in the following figure:

4.3.2 Effect view

Click "OK", the contract amount is divided into five groups, the interval is 40000. As shown below:

Use "FRDemo_ORDERS" to make a grouping table as shown in the figure below:

By default, the default grouping method for date type fields is "year month day". FineBI can group dates in multiple ways, as shown in the figure below:

Switch the grouping method of "SIGNDATE" to year, as shown in the figure below:
