Radar chart

1. Overview

1.1 Application scenario

A Radar Chart, also known as a Debra or Spider Chart, has its own numerical axes for each category, which radiate outward from the center and connect the values of the same series with a line. This is used to show the relationship between independent data series and between a particular series and the whole of the other series.

For example, a radar chart can be used to show the performance comparison between two cell phones A and B, as shown in the following figure.

1.2 Basic requirements

Basic requirements for a folded radar chart.

1.3 Chart features

Advantages: suitable for presenting multiple key features of a dataset and comparing them, suitable for comparing the values of multiple data on multiple dimensions.

Disadvantages: Not suitable for presenting multi-category data.

2. Example

2.1 Upload data

1）Download the sample data Comparison of phone parameters.xlsx, click on Data Preparation, and add the EXCEL data set under the business package, as shown below.

2）Upload the downloaded Comparison of phone parameters.xlsx, take the table name Comparison of phone parameters, and click OK, as shown in the following figure.

2.2 Create a component

After uploading the data, refresh the data and click Create Component, enter the information and click OK, as shown below.

2.3 Create a chart

Select the radar chart and drag the fields under the dimension of the region to be analyzed into the horizontal and vertical axes. Then the radar chart is successfully created as shown in the figure below.

2.4 Component beautification

2.4.1 Set Graphic Properties

Click Graphic Properties, all under the Size column, and adjust the line width of the line to 1, as shown in the following figure.

2.4.2 Set title

Click on the title bar, edit the title content, and set the font size as shown below.

2.4.3 Analysis area field settings

1）Dimension field drop-down settings. Click the Feature field drop-down box, select Custom sorting, adjust the order as follows: Appearance - Screen - Function - Photography - System, click OK, as shown in the following figure.

2）Indicator field drop-down settings.

If you do not want to display data in the radar chart, you can click the phone A or phone B drop-down, select Set value axis (left value axis), cancel the display axis label; radar chart data difference display is not obvious, you can carry out axis scale custom adjustment axis scale to enlarge the difference between data. Click OK after setting, as shown in the following figure.

2.4.4 Set Component Style

Click Component Style, select Horizontal Grid Lines, and set the RGB values for all line colors to 229, as shown in the following figure.
