Rose chart

1. Overview

1.1 Application scenario

The rose chart, also known as the polar area chart, uses the radius of the arc to represent the amount of data, and displays the size of each value relative to the total value. The effect is shown in the following figure:

1.2 Basic requirements

The basic requirments for rose chart:

1.3 Chart features

Advantages: it is suitable to highlight the size differences of different classifications.

Disadvantages: exaggerate the difference between the data volume. The difference of 1% is reflected in the area, and the visual difference is more than 1%, which is not good for displaying the specific difference quantity.

2.Operation steps

2.1 Create component

1) Click "Dashboard", select "New dashboard", and click "OK", as shown in the following figure:

2) Click "Add component", select "data list" → "My Packages" → "sales profit", and click "OK", as shown in the following figure:

3) Drag the "Year" to "Dimension" field, and the "sales revenue","profit" to the "indicator" :

4) Select "Rose Chart" under "chart type", and the effect is shown in the following figure:

It can be seen that the size of "profit" is mapped to the radius of the rose chart, and the size of "sales revenue" is mapped to the angle of the rose chart.

Note: the rose chart can be selected only when there are 1 dimension and 2 indicator fields in the horizontal and vertical axis, otherwise the rose chart under the chart type will be grayed and cannot be clicked.

5) Click the "Year" field and select "Year" to display:

2.2 Graphic Properties setting

2.2.1 Radius

Click the "Radius" tag, set the proportion of "Inner diameter" to 0%, as shown in the following figure:

2.2.2 Sorting

Click the drop-down list of "Year" in "Graphic Properties" → "color", select "Ascending", sort by "profit(Sum)", as shown in the following figure:

2.3 View the effects

2.3.1 PC terminal

Select the corresponding dashboard, click "Preview Dashboard". The chart is shown in the following figure:
