Column chart

1. Overview

1.1 Application scenario

A column chart, also known as a bar chart, is a statistical chart with the length of a rectangle as a variable.

1.3 Chart features

Advantage: Used to compare two or more values (different time or different conditions), usually suitable for smaller dataset analysis.

Disadvantage: Not suitable for the display of big datasets.

2. Example

2.1 Add a component

2.1.1 Add data

1) Click the "Dashboard" , select "New Dashboard", and click OK, as shown in the figure below:

2) Click "Add Component", select ORDERS under "Package", and click OK, as shown in the figure below:

3) Drag the field "SIGNDATE" under the dimension to the horizontal axis, and drag the field "AMOUNT" under the indicator to the vertical axis, as shown in the figure below:

4) The default is "Column Chart" under the graphic properties, as shown in the figure below:

2.2 Graghic properties settings

2.2.1 Adaptive display

1) The chart preview is displayed as a created column chart. Choose Component Style>Adaptive Display>Overall Adaptation. As shown below:

The column chart also supports the settings of color, size, tag, prompt, fine-grained, component style, etc. Please refer to [Chart attributes] for details.

2.3 Multiple dimensions/indicators

1) At the same time, multiple dimensions and indicator fields can be dragged into the horizontal and vertical axis of the chart to display a complex column chart. For example, drag into the "PAYMETHOD" field for the horizontal axis and the "PAID" field for the vertical axis. The axis displays the dimensions hierarchically, and the indicators are superimposed on the chart. As shown below:

2) If you want to categorize and display indicators of different shipping dates on the vertical axis, drag the "SHIPDATE" field into the vertical axis and set the time as the year, as shown in the figure below:

3) Click the drop-down box of SHIPDATE and select the year to display:

2.4 Bar chart

1) If you want to display the bar chart, click on the horizontal and vertical axis to select the exchange horizontal and vertical axis, hover the mouse on the horizontal and vertical axis, and click the exchange horizontal and vertical axis field button. As shown below:

2) The horizontal and vertical axis fields are displayed interchangeably, and the chart is displayed in a bar shape. As shown below:

In addition to the above introduction, the column chart can also be set to graphic properties, styles, chart sorting, grouping, filtering, setting axis, summary mode, quick calculation, etc., to create a complex column chart. For details, please see the documents below.
