Line chart

1.1 Application scenarios

The line chart is used to display the changes of data in a continuous time interval or time span, and its characteristic is to reflect the trend of things changing with time or ordered categories. In a line chart, the horizontal axis is generally used to represent the passage of time, and the interval is the same; while the vertical axis represents the size of the data at different moments. As shown below:

The basic requirements of a line chart:

1.3 Chart features

Advantages: suitable for continuous field data, or an orderly classification of a continuous data field.

Disadvantages: Discrete data that is not suitable for disorderly classification.

1) Click "Dashboard", select "New Dashboard", and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

2) Click "Add component", select "ORDERS" under "Package", and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:

3) Drag the field SIGNDATE under the dimension to the horizontal axis, and the field Counter under the indicator to the vertical axis, as shown in the figure below:

4) Click SIGNDATE (Year Month Day) to switch to "Year Month", as shown below:

5) Select Partition Line Chart in the shape selection column under "chart type", as shown below:
