Rectangular block map

1.1 Application scenarios

When you need to analyze data by region, you can use a column map to display it, and the value size is mapped to the color and size of the column map, as shown in the following figure:

1.2 Function introduction

The map function can see the distribution of data in various regions at a glance, and the display is more intuitive, increasing the three-dimensional sense of the graphics.

2.1 Create a new dashboard

Use the "Regional Data Analysis" in the "Sales DEMO" business package to create a dashboard.

1) Create a new dashboard, as shown in the figure below:

2) Select "add component", as shown in the figure below:

3) In the data list, select "FRDemo_MAPDemo" in the "package", as shown in the figure below:

2.2 Make a custom chart

2.2.1 Converting dimensions into geographic roles

Choose its geographic role according to the actual situation of the dimension.

1) Select the dimension "province" and select "Geographic role>Province/City/Autonomous Region" from the drop-down list, as shown in the figure below:

2) The geographic role setting box will automatically pop up, and the system will automatically perform fuzzy matching, click "OK", as shown in the following figure:

2.2.2 Select chart type

After matching the data, the dimensional field will generate "province (Longitude)" and "province (Latitude)". Select "Custom Chart" for the chart type and "Rectangular Block" under the "graphic properties", as shown in the following figure:

2.2.3 Drag into fields

1) Drag the "province (Longitude)" and "province (Latitude)" generated by the dimension field to the horizontal and vertical axis of the analysis area, as shown in the figure below:

2) Use the color and size of the rectangular block in each area to display the data of the "Last year profits" in each area, as shown in the following figure:

3) Set the color of the rectangular block of "Last year profits", and choose "Aurora" as the "Gradient". The darker the color is, the higher the profits are, as shown in the figure below:

4) Set the size of the rectangular block of "Last year profits". The larger the rectangular block is, the higher the profits are represented, as shown in the figure below:

5) Not display legend

The display of the legend is not necessary, in order to make the chart more beautiful, remove the legend. Uncheck "Legend" under "component style", as shown in the figure below:
