Dashboard

  • Recent Updates: April 25, 2022
  • 1. Overview

    1.1 Application scenarios

The dashboard is like a clock or a readable disc. It has scales and pointers. The scales indicate the measurement, the pointer indicates the dimension, the pointer angle indicates the value, and the pointer points to the current value.

Using the dashboard, you can visually show the progress or actual situation of a certain indicator. Results as shown below:

FineBI supports three types of dashboard: pointer type, percentage type, and test tube type, which can be selected in the "graphic properties".

    1.2 Chart features

Advantage: Visually show the progress or actual situation of an indicator, mainly used for the display of progress or proportion.

Disadvantage: The indicators should not be too many, and the display information is limited.

    2. Example

    2.1 New a dashboard

Create a new dashboard and name it "Dashboard", as shown in the figure below:

    2.2 Add component

Click "Add Components" to add ORDERS under Package, as shown in the figure below:

    2.3 Design dashboard

    1) Select "Dashboard>pointer type" for the chart type, drag the indicator "AMOUNT" to the pointer value, as shown in the figure below:

The pointer value is the scale position that the pointer points to, and multiple pointers can be generated. You only need to drag multiple pointers to the pointer value.

    2) Click "target value" and set a custom value "80000000", as shown in the figure below:

The target value is the maximum scale of the current dashboard, which affects the position of the pointer, but does not affect the pointer value. You can also drag in the indicator value as the target value, and you dont have to customize it.

    3) Drag the indicator "AMOUNT" to "color", click the setting box, and set the [Style] gradient for the scale slot, as shown in the figure below:

Here you can also customize the colors of the pointer, scale value, Hub, Hub background, and Chassis. In the example, we will not change it, just use the default.

    4) Set the radius of the dashboard to 80, and enlarge the graph, as shown in the figure below:

    5) Uncheck the legend, click "Enter the dashboard" to see the final effect, as shown in the figure below:

    3. Realize percentage dashboard

Many users have questions about how to implement a percentage dashboard. Here is how to add a percentage to the dashboard.

    image (10).png

    1) Generally speaking, the settings are similar to pointer type dashboard, except that the chart subtype needs to be changed to percentage type, as shown in the following figure:

    image (11).png

    2) Add a new calculation indicator, use "AMOUNT/target value" to calculate the percentage data, as shown in the figure below:

    image (12).png

    3) Drag the calculation indicator  to the tag and modify the numeric format to percentage, as shown in the figure below:
