When making chart components, users hope that the data can be displayed in a certain order based on the filtering results of the filtering components.

1.3 Function introduction

The sorting of the chart supports the sorting of the dimension fields in the "horizontal and vertical axis" and "graphic properties".

There are three types of sorting: "ascending", "descending" and "custom sorting". Among them, "Custom Sorting" is to adjust the order of field values by yourself.

Note: The date field only supports ascending and descending order, and the "indicator" field does not support sorting, only the "dimension" field supports.

2. Horizontal and vertical axis sorting

After clicking the drop-down button on the dimension field on the horizontal and vertical axis, you can see that there is an ascending and descending order setting. The fields for selecting the ascending and descending order are all the dimension fields in the current data table and the indicator fields that have been dragged, as shown in the following figure:

2.1 Horizontal axis sorting

For example, if we sort by "AMOUNT" in "Ascending", the "SHIPMETHOD" on the horizontal axis in the chart will be sorted in ascending order by "AMOUNT".

2.2 Vertical axis sorting

After the vertical axis dimension field "PAYMETHOD" is set in "descending order" according to the "AMOUNT", the vertical axis category can be seen in the chart in descending order according to "AMOUNT", as shown in the figure below:

3. Sorting of Graphical Properties

The dimension field dragged in the "graphic properties" can sort the fields corresponding to different properties.

For example: drag the "PAYMETHOD" into the color bar and choose to sort in ascending order of "AMOUNT". The final effect will sort the "PAYMETHOD" field in ascending order of "AMOUNT" and assign different colour.

4.1 Common use of custom sorting and filter components

If the filter component is used and custom sorting is used in the chart, all data will be displayed when sorting is set, not just the filtered results, as shown in the following figure:

4.2 Sorting logic optimization

5.1.12 and later versions, the chart sorting logic is optimized. The specific instructions are as follows:

• The order of the first dimension field of the vertical axis is the global order.

• The order of the dimension fields in the legend properties (size, shape, color) is a global order.
