Chart turn on stacking

  • Recent Updates: April 26, 2022
  • 1. Overview

FineBI provides a stacking switch for the components in the chart, which is used to turn on the stacking effect when displayed in the chart. For example, the column chart below shows the stacking display effect of AMOUNT, PAID, and Counter. As shown below:

    2. Steps

Only when you drag the indicator field on the horizontal and vertical axis, and the vertical direction is a dimension field or there is no field, you can set whether to stack or not. The stacking switch is off by default. Stacking display is more used in column chart, and it can be divided into two situations: indicator juxtaposition and indicator aggregation. Below we use column chart to demonstrate how to turn on stacking.

    2.1 Indicator juxtaposition

When the indicators are tied together, the stacking effect is usually used for fine-grained display. For example, we drag into the "SIGNDATE" and "AMOUNT", "PAID", and "Counter" fields under "ORDERS" in the "Package" for the horizontal and vertical axes, and select "indicator juxtaposition", as shown in the following figure:

    image (1).png

At this time, because the indicators are side by side and displayed in different coordinate systems, there is no accumulation effect. At this time, if you want to add fine-grained to the dimension "SIGNDATE", such as "SHIPMETHOD", you can directly drag the "SHIPMETHOD" field into the "color" under "Graghic Properties", then "SHIPMETHOD" will be divided under "SIGNDATE", and the "stack" will be displayed. As shown below:

    image (2).png

If you do not want to display the fine-grained "SHIPMETHOD" with the color effect, you can also drag the "SHIPMETHOD" field into the fine-grained bar under the "Graphic Properties", and you can also see the stacking effect of the column chart.

    2.2 Indicator aggregation

When the indicators are aggregated, the stacking effect is usually used for the superimposed display of multiple indicators. For example, in the "SIGNDATE" and "AMOUNT", "PAID", and "Counter" fields above, select the indicator display mode as "indicator aggregation", as shown in the following figure:

    image (3).png

It can be seen that the columns in the chart are displayed separately at this time. If you want to display the stacking of indicators, you can click the drop-down button of each indicator and select "Turn on stacking", as shown in the following figure:

    image (4).png

Select "Turn on stacking" for each of the three indicator items, and drag the "TargetName" field under the dimension into the "color" column under the "Graphic Properties", and each indicator item in the chart will be displayed superimposed, as shown in the following figure:

Other chart shapes are similar to the stacked function of the column chart.
