Admins can add, modify or delete directories on PC or Mobile in the directory management.

If there are too many directories, you can search and find the target directory quickly in the directory management.

Functions

This function supports settings like adding, modifying and deleting directories in the system.

This article will introduce in detail how admins can perform above operations, and add BI Template, Add Template, Report Tab, Add Link and Add Directory. 

It refers to the addition, deletion and modification of directories.

Adding Directory

1.     Procedures

Log into FineBI, click Manage > Directory > Manage Directory > Add Directory to open the setting interface. Enter the name and description as needed in the box.

You can select display terminals as needed in the Add Directory setting interface for template checking on PC, tablet or mobile. 

Click OK, and a new directory will be added in the Directory List.

1.     Mounting Links or Templates in the First-Level Directory

The following versions of JAR package, App and plugin support direct mounting of templates and links in the first-level directory on App and HTML5.

Note: For procedures of adding templates, see the section "Adding FineBI Templates". For procedures of adding links, see the section "Adding Links".

2.     Not Displaying Empty Directory on Mobile

Mobile terminals like App and HTML5 will not display the first-level and multi-level empty directories by default.

If you add an empty directory named FRtest in Directory, the interface on App will be displayed like this:

The super admin can set whether to display empty directories on mobile terminals like App and HTML5 through the fine-conf-entity Visual Deployment plugin. Restart the server, and all the settings will take effect.

Editing Directory

Click the directory named BItest, and modify its name, description and display terminals on the right side. Click Save to save all the settings. 

Deleting Directory

1.     Deleting One Directory

Click , and it will prompt that The contents of the directory will be deleted along with the directory. Confirm deletion? Click OK to delete it.

1.     Bulk Deleting Directories

You can delete directories in bulk.

Click , and click Bulk Delete. Then the single selection box will appear before each file. Tick the files as needed and delete them. 

Node management refers to functions like adding BI templates, templates, links and report tabs, batch deleting templates, and editing or deleting one template.

Adding FineBI Template

You can directly create a FineBI template in the dashboard.

1.     Selecting Path

Click BItest. Click BI Template to search and select paths as needed. You can select more than one path.

1.     Setting Template

Click Next to set the template. Click beside the template name column to open or close the corresponding template setting interface.

Hover the mouse over the template name column, and click Delete on the right side to delete the template.

Notes:

a.     The template name will follow the updates of the corresponding template. If the template is unnamed, the template name column will be empty.

b.     The terminal's display options will be the same as that of the directory by default. This means that if you have not selected PC in the directory, the PC option will be grayed out in the template.

1.     Preview

a. Click OK, and a new template is added in the directory BItest. Select the template. You can delete the template, or modify its settings on the right. After the modification, click Save.

Click Preview Template to preview the template.

b. Click Directory and then click Refresh. The directory tree on the left will display the newly added template.

Adding Template

FineReport templates are placed under %BI_HOME%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\reportlets.

The procedure of adding FineReport templates is the same as that of adding FineBI templates. For details, see section "Adding FineBI Template".

Adding Report Tab

You can add report tab in the FineBI directory management, but cannot use the multi-level data reporting function without using fill-in tamplates. It is recommended to integrate FineReport with FineBI.

Note: If the Multi-level Data Report function point is not registered, the Report Tab function will not appear in the directory management. 

Adding Link

There are two scenarios:

•  Linking to an external link. In the demonstration, you can not only display reports, but also put external links in the FineBI project. For example, you can add the link path: https://www.finereport.com/en/.

• Linking to a relative path. If the link is mounted with HTML page, image or gif, you can save these files in the webroot file under %FineBI_HOME%\webapps\webroot. The relative link paths are:/webroot/{1.png}, /webroot/{1.gif}, /webroot/{demo.html}.

1.     Procedures

a.     Select the BItest directory. Click Add Link, and then the setting interface will appear. Enter FanReport's Official Website in the Name box, and enter https://www.finereport.com/en/ in the Link Path box.

Note: You have to add http:// before the path link, or other people cannot access the link.

Click OK, and a link record will be added below the directory. You can edit and delete it as needed.

2.     Preview

Click Directory and then click Refresh. A link node will be displayed in the directory list on the left.

If there are too many directories, you can search and find the target directory or template quickly in the Directory setting interface.

Notes:

1. You cannot search for directories in two root nodes, Manage Homepage and Directory.

2. The Bulk Delete function is disabled when you are searching.

You can log into the FineBI system, click Manage > Directory, and change the order of directories and templates in the Directory List.

For example, you can drag one directory to the parent directory or non-parent directory as needed.
