Data preparation introduction

Before the business staff can analyze the data, the administrator needs to prepare the data. The data preparation phase of the administrator includes creating data connections, creating new business packages, creating new data tables, and performing basic table processing operations.

 1) Create a data connection: the administrator builds a data bridge between the database and FineBI. For details, see: Configure data connection

2) New classification and business package: The business package is equivalent to the folder where the data table is stored, and the purpose is to store and manage the data table.

3) Add table: add the data table to FineBI.

4) Basic table processing: Basic processing of data obtained from the database, including table field settings, self-circulating columns, and row-column conversion.

After adding the table to FineBI, FineBI will automatically recognize the field type and divide it into: numerical, text, and date type.

The field type can be distinguished visually with the mark, as shown in the figure below:

• Numerical field: If the number of decimals exceeds two digits in BI, it is rounded to two digits. You can go to the numeric format of the dashboard to adjust the number of decimals.

• Date type field: If it is successfully recognized as a date type field by BI, the "year, month, day, hour, minute, and second" will be automatically completed and displayed as yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss (example: the original field is 2020-10 -15, displayed as 2020-10-15 00:00:00 after completion in BI)
