Pivotal Greenplum Database data connection

The Greenplum database is also referred to as GPDB and has many rich features, such as complete standard support, good linear scalability, support for distributed transactions, support for ACID, etc. Therefore, FineBI supports data analysis through GreenPlum database access. In this chapter, we will introduce how to connect to Pivotal Greenplum Database in FineBI.

2.2.1 Download the driver

Download the driver of Pivotal Greenplum Database from the download link above, and place the driver package under %FineBI%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\lib, and restart FineBI.

2.2.2 Create a data connection

The administrator logs into the data decision system, selects "Manage>Data Connection>Data Connection Management", clicks "New Data Connection", and selects Pivotal Greenplum Database under "All", as shown in the following figure:

Note: If a non-administrator user wants to configure a data connection, the administrator needs to assign the authority to the "Data Connection" under the "Manage". For specific operations, please see: Data Connection Control.

According to the configuration information provided above, enter the corresponding information of the database, and you can choose to fill in the advanced setting information (for related introduction, please refer to: Configure Data Connection), as shown in the following figure:

If using the postgresql driver, in order to ensure the correctness of the database access, the direct connection version data connection URL needs to be added: ?fineBIDialect=greenplum, for example: jdbc:postgresql://221.228.203.3:5432/lance?fineBIDialect=greenplum.

2.3 Test connection

Click "Test Connection", or click "Click to Connect Database" in the "Pattern", if the test connection is successful, it means that the database is successfully connected, as shown in the following figure:

2.4 Select the pattern

After the test connection is successful, you can select the pattern, and select the corresponding pattern according to your needs. If you do not select, the first mode will be the default. As shown below:

After the pattern is selected, click "Save" in the upper right corner, and the data connection is added successfully. As shown below:

In the Spider engine, when getting the association information of the table, there will be a version problem with postgresql-8.0-415.jdbc3 of 8.0, and the problem can be solved by replacing it with postgresql-8.1-415.jdbc3.
