SAP Sybase data connection

SAP Sybase is a database based on a client/server architecture. Due to the client/server structure, the application is divided into multiple machines to run. Furthermore, the application running on the client does not have to be a product of Sybase. For general relational databases, pre-compilation is provided in order to allow applications written in other languages to access the database. The Sybase database not only simply provides pre-compilation, but also exposes the application program interface DB-LIB, encouraging third parties to write DB-LIB interfaces. Since the open client DB-LIB allows the use of exactly the same calls on different platforms, applications that access DB-LIB can be easily transplanted from one platform to another, and it is a high-performance database. In this chapter, we will introduce how to connect to the SAP Sybase database in FineBI.

2.2 Connection steps

• Download the SAP Sybase driver package from the download link above, and place the driver package under %FineBI%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\lib, and restart FineBI.

• Log in to the data decision system, select Manage>Data Connection>Data Connection Management, click "New Data Connection", and select "SAP Sybase" under all options, as shown in the following figure:

• Click OK to enter the data connection configuration page, and enter the corresponding information of the database according to the configuration information provided above. You can choose to fill in the connection pool attribute information (for the introduction of connection pool attributes, please refer to Configuring Data Connection), as shown in the following figure:

• Click "test connection" or "click to connect database" in the pattern, if the test connection is successful, it means that the database is successfully connected, as shown in the following figure:

• After the test connection is successful, you can select the pattern, and select the corresponding pattern according to your needs. If you do not select, the first pattern will be the default. As shown below:

• After the pattern is selected, click the save button in the upper right corner, and the data connection is added successfully. As shown below:
