FineBI installation directory structure

1 Overview

After the FineBI installation is complete, enter the installation directory to see the installation files. The FineBI installation file is essentially a Tomcat. This article details the installation directory structure.

bin	The directory where the BI project startup file is located, where the memory size and encoding method allocated by BI can be modified in finebi.vmoptions The ROOT folder in this directory contains all data tables and temporary data tables. It is also the default data update storage location, and you can adjust the location by yourself. For details, see: Composition and storage of data update The output.log in this directory stores an overview of the information output when accessing the front end Note: The log related files under bin can be cleaned up
jre	is to support Java applications in the Java runtime environment
lib	The JAR package that stores the loading animation when BI starts
logs	Including project operation log and GC log Note: Clearing generally does not affect the operation.
server	Tomcat's root directory, including Tomcat's configuration folder and Tomcat's own dependency folder
temp	Store temporary files generated during Tomcat running At the same time, it is the cache path for exporting Excel files. You can modify the cache storage location by modifying the parameter Djava.io.tmpdir=.\temp in thefinebi.vmoptions file in the%FineBI%/bin directory . The folder can be deleted after the project is shut down to free up memory Note: It is not recommended to clean the temp temporary directory when the project is running. It needs to be cleaned up when the project is shut down. If an error is reported after cleaning, the project needs to be restarted.
webapps	Store the application, when the service starts, it will load the application in the webapps directory

LICENSE	License, which records some of the terms of Tomcat, etc.

logs	Store log files, record system login information, template access information, error information, etc.

FRDemo.db	Built-in Sqlite database file
test.mv.db、test.trace.db	Built-in H2 database file
webcomponents.html	This is a Web component, and the hyperlink address can be written. For example, this is a custom HTML file that is built into the project's internal %/webroot/ directory

assets	The resource folder, which stores the resource files used in the project, etc. The uploaded pictures and Excel data are stored in temp_attach.
assist	Auxiliary folder, store some auxiliary files
classes	class file storage directory
dashboards	BI template save folder
embed	Built-in database configuration directory
lib	JAR package folder that BI project depends on
reportlets	Store FineReport report cpt and frm files
resources	Store project-related resource configuration files
treasures	Contains the function points of the report and the buried point information of BI, which will be automatically generated once a month under normal circumstances

cpu.xml	CPU switch, used when dealing with sigard causing the JVM virtual machine to crash
FanRuan.lic	Engineering certificate file

Test timed task email notification: store files generated by timed scheduling .

7. dashboard directory

The directory stores folders named by different user IDs.

Click on the folder of a user ID, as shown in the following figure:

FBI file: It stores the specific dashboard created by the corresponding user, and the file is named with the dashboard ID.

8. Precautions

8.1 Introduction to error.log file

There is an error.log file in the %FineBI_HOME%\bin directory of some user projects . This file will not be split according to the date, and records all logs of the error level of the date and some related info information.

If the user thinks that the file occupies too much disk space, you can delete it manually, write a script to delete it regularly, or write a script to monitor the size and delete it.

Note 1: It is recommended to confirm that the fanruan.log log is sufficient, and then consider whether to delete the error.log file.

Note 2: If the project is deployed in a Tomcat container, there will be no error.log file in the bin directory.
