Percentage stacked column chart

1.Overview

1.1 Application scenarios

Each layer of the column represents the percentage of the category data in the overall data of the group, and each series is stacked according to the percentage, so that the proportion of each series can be seen intuitively. For example, the figure below shows the comparative changes in the public's attitude towards corporal punishment of children from 1986 to 2016.

The basic requirements of percentage stacked column chart:

1.3 Chart features

Advantage: Clearly see the proportion of different indicators in each dimension, and compare the data volume gaps of different dimension categories.

Disadvantage: Too much stacking will make it difficult to distinguish and compare data, and it is difficult to compare data of the same dimension under different categories.

2.1 Create component

2.1.1 Data preprocessing

1) Download the sample data

Penalty_Data.xlsx

 , click "Data Preparation", select "Package", and add the EXCEL dataset, as shown in the following figure:

2) Upload the downloaded Penalty_Data.xlsx, name the table Penalty_Data, and click OK, as shown in the figure below:

2.1.2 Create chart

1) Click "Dashboard", select "New Dashboard", and click OK, as shown in the figure below:

2) Click "Add Component", select "Penalty_Data" under "Package", and click OK, as shown in the figure below:

3) Drag the field "Year" under the dimension of the area to be analyzed into the horizontal axis, and drag the "Agree, Strongly agree, Opposed, Strongly opposed, Unknown" field under the indicator to the vertical axis in turn, as shown in the following figure:

4) For the indicator fields "Agree, Strongly agree, Opposed, Strongly opposed, Unknown", set the quick calculation method "Current dimension percentage" respectively. That is, in the current year, all kinds of attitudes account for the percentage of the total indicator sum.

5) Select stacked column chart, as shown in the figure below, at this time, each indicator item on the vertical axis is stacked and displayed in the chart.

Note: The stacked column chart must have at least 1 dimension and at least 2 indicators in the horizontal and vertical axis to be selected, otherwise the stacked column chart under the chart type will be grayed out and cannot be clicked.

6) Set the numeric format to percentage. For "Agree, Strongly agree, Opposed, Strongly opposed, Unknown", select the numeric format, select the percentage, set the number of decimal places to 2, and click OK, as shown in the following figure:

7) Set the value axis range

Click the drop down under any indicator of "Agree, Strongly agree, Opposed, Strongly opposed, Unknown", select "Set the value axis (left value axis)", check the "Axis Scale Customization", select the maximum value, and enter 1 in the formula box that pops up , click OK:

2.2 Graghic properties settings

Set color

Drag "TargetName" into the color bar and click on the color bar to set the display color of "Agree, Strongly agree, Opposed, Strongly opposed, Unknown", as shown in the figure below:
