Self-service dataset of processing property

This function is suitable for data processing users.

1.1 Version

1.2 Application Scenario

Self-service dataset of processing property refers to self-service dataset created by "data processing users" under the common business packages.

Such as data processing users can assign row permissions to the "self-service dataset of processing property", thus providing basic data for data analysis users to make further analysis.

Note: The property of the self-service dataset is determined at the moment it is established. Changing the location of the self-service dataset will not alter its property.

1.3 Function introduction

The example is to create a self-service dataset under the business package.

2.1 Add self-service dataset

Data processing users can create self-service datasets in business packages with editing permissions. The administrator account is used here. The following steps are the same as ordinary data processing users.

Select "Add Table> Self-Service Dataset" in "Data Preparation> SalesDEMO". As shown below:

2.2 Select fields to analyze

After creating the dataset,  we select the fields that need to be used for analysis.

Select the field "CUSTOMERID" of the table "ORDERS", as shown in the figure below:

 2.3 View calculation data limit

2.3.1 Self-service data set is extracted data

Since data processing users mainly conduct basic data processing and create basic models. Thus most of the data used are the underlying data, which is of huge amount. If all data are used in the calculation, the calculation speed will be affected. Therefore, the self-service dataset does not support calculations using "select all data". The default editing page displays "Currently only the first 20000 rows are calculated", as shown in the figure below:

Note: Although the number of actual calculations for the self-service dataset in the editing interface is partially limited, the entire data is used when making the dashboard after saving the self-service dataset. For details, you can see: The displayed data volume of self-service dataset .

2.3.2 Real-time self-service dataset

After the version 2020-08-04, the self-service dataset uses "All data" for calculation by default, as shown in the following figure:

2.4 Perform data analysis

Click "Save" after completing the analysis.

2.5 Update self-service dataset

Note: data can only be updated when the self-service dataset is extracted data.

Extraction can be conducted under the "update information". When creating a self-service dataset, the default extraction setting is "Extract data", which can be manually adjusted to "Do not extract data", as shown in the figure below:

2.6 Create Association

Note: Only in the situation that the self-service dataset is extracted sata, the association can be created.

You need to select "Association View" to manually configure the association, as shown in the figure below:

After the association configuration is completed, the authority of the self-service dataset is in consistency with the authority of the salesDEMO business package.
