For video learning, see: self service dataset operation.
Add the preview interface to "Save as"
You can search for business packs when "Save as"
You can add notes to self-service datasets and internal nodes
Supports opening an editing interface for multiple self-service datasets and underlying tables at the same time
After making self-service datasets, users need to manage them, such as renaming, deleting, etc.
Users can perform a series of management operations on self-service data sets with editing permission.
1) There are two entries for editing self-service dataset, as shown in the following figure:
2) After opening a self-service dataset, you can click the "data list (extracted)" to return to the lists' front page. As shown in the figure below:
3) You can open the editing interfaces of multiple self-service datasets or basic tables at the same time. Different editing interfaces are displayed in the form of tabs. As shown in the figure below:
Users can click to switch the editing page, or drag tab to adjust the order.
When a self-service dataset is modified, you can directly save the self-service dataset in the editing interface. If it is not saved, the system will also remind you whether to save it when you turn off the self-service dataset. As shown in the figure below:
Save: saves the current operation steps of self-service dataset.
Save and update: for the self-service dataset previously set as "extract data" under the update information, the "save and update" button will appear after editing. After clicking, you can not only save the current operation steps, but also trigger the data update of self-service dataset.
Do not save: do not save the current operation step.
Save as: save the modified self-service dataset as a new self-service dataset. See section 4 of this document for details.
Click the Button on the right side of the self-service dataset and select "Save as". Users can directly search the business package name, as shown in the figure below:
In the self-service dataset editing interface, you can save the self-service dataset as a new table. As shown in the figure below:
Note: the self-service dataset being edited cannot be renamed.
1) If you want to modify the table name of the self-service dataset that has been saved successfully, click the button on the right side of the self-service dataset and select Rename, as shown in the following figure:
2) Users can change the name in the pop-up box and add remarks to facilitate others to understand the role of this self-service dataset. As shown in the figure below:
3) Click OK and hover the mouse over the self-service dataset to see the comments just added, as shown in the following figure:
Note: "save as" the self-service dataset after adding comments, and the comments of the original self-service dataset will not be saved for the new self-service dataset.
The table name of self-service dataset can be modified in the editing interface, as shown in the following figure:
Corresponding permissions are needed to move the data table to other locations.
The user must be the "creator" of the self-service dataset, and have the "management" permission of the corresponding data table business package before and after the move, as well as the "use" permission of the "moved self-service dataset".
Note: only the creator and super administrator of the self-service dataset have the "Manage" permission and can be moved. Other users cannot move it.
Note: the self-service dataset can only be moved out from the "my self-service dataset" group, and cannot be moved in.
Note: the self-service dataset being edited cannot be moved.
For example, the user "demo" need to move the self-service dataset of "sales summary" under "packages" to theGrouping package of "package1", click the button on the right side of the self-service dataset, select "move to", and select the location, as shown in the following figure:
Assign user "demo" the "Manage" permission of the "Grouping → package1" package, and the "Use" and "Manage" permission of the "sales summary" data set, as shown in the following figure:
If you need to delete a self-service dataset, as shown in the following figure:
Note: the self-service dataset being edited cannot be deleted.
In the created self-service dataset, you can see the steps of previous historical operations. You can check each step previously, as shown in the following figure:
You can also modify any field operation in the history step.
For example, click the "field settings" step in the following figure to change the settings in this step, as shown in the following figure:
Users can add processing operations in the historical steps. Hover the mouse between steps and click the button to add steps in the historical steps, as shown in the following figure:
Hover the mouse over the step capsule and click "the button on the right side of the self-service dataset → delete" to delete the current step, as shown in the following figure:
Often after a period of time, users will forget the meaning of a step, and the steps are complex and difficult to understand.
User can modify the step name and add a step to record what the step has done and why it has been handled.
1) Select "Name", as shown in the following figure:
2) Modify "Name" and "Remark", as shown in the following figure:
3) Click "OK" and hover the mouse over the step. The effect is shown in the following figure:
After modifying the history steps, save the self-service dataset.
Like the basic table, the self-service dataset has "Data Preview", "Blood Analysis", "associated view", "update information" on the business package configuration page, as shown in the following figure:
In the preview area of self-service dataset editing, only the first 5000 pieces of data can be displayed. In addition, in the preview area, you can delete the added fields, switch the display details display and table structure display, and click the field name to display the field details.
Touch the field name and a delete icon will appear. Click to delete the field, as shown in the following figure:
Preview display details by default, click on then table structure can be displayed, as shown in the figure below:
Click the field name "studentID" to open the field details box, including "field name", "Source Field", "Source Table", "Table Location" and "Data-access", as shown in the following figure:
For more details:see file blood analysis.
For more details:see files: associated view, data analysis user associated view, data processing user associated view.
For more details:see files: data analysis user update information, data processing user update information.
On the self-service dataset page, you can directly create components and new self-service datasets, as shown in the following figure:
The self-service dataset of version 5.1 after January 15, 2020 adds the permission inheritance function. For details, see file: permission inheritance.
FineBI recommends that users do analysis directly in the dashboard. If it is really necessary to export self-service data sets to FineBI, you can refer to the following steps:
1) Make a detail table with the self-service dataset to be exported. For details, see file: detail table.
2) Export the detail table to excel. For details, see file: exporting components to Excel.
