This chapter introduces the rules of geographic role matching for users in detail.
FineBI's geographic role has four levels, namely country/region, province/city/municipalities, city, district/county, and users can match fields with geographic roles under the corresponding level.
Geographic role matching is actually to match geographic roles in geographic information with user fields.
Go to Management System>Map Configuration>Geographic Information, you can see that FineBI's own geographic information contains the world and China map, and the China map contains three levels of province, city, district and county, as shown in the following figure:
When performing geographic role field matching, it is the area instead of the point that is matched. The user can customize the geographic role and change the area and name of the geographic role. For details, please refer to: Geographic Information
Match fields with geographic roles in geographic information.
1) Click the drop-down of the text dimension field> Geographic Role, you can see four levels of country/region, province/city/autonomous region, city, district/county, as shown in the following figure:
2) Select the corresponding level according to the field, and select the city level. Enter the geographic role matching setting page, as shown in the figure below:
Note: The municipalities directly under the central government are matched at the "province/city/autonomous region" level, and the current selection is the "city" level, so "Chongqing City" and "Tianjin City" in the following figure cannot be automatically matched.
3) When the system fails to automatically match, you can click the drop-down to select the geographic role, or you can search for it. As shown below:
4) Click OK, after matching geographic roles, you can make a regional map. For details, please refer to: Regional Map
The matching data can only be matched at the current level. For example, when you select a province/city/autonomous region when you switch to a geographic role, you can only match the second-level province data, and cannot match the data at other levels.
In FineBI's own geographic information, municipalities are at the provincial and municipal level, and directly-controlled counties are at the city level. For example, in Chapter 2.2, municipalities and autonomous regions cannot match the city level (prefecture-level city). How to make municipalities directly match the city level can be found in: Direct municipalities match geographic roles (cities)
Except for China, other countries and regions do not have the next level of geographic information on the world map.
If multiple fields are matched to the same area, they will not be merged. For example, if the user data contains Guangdong and Guangdong provinces, when matching provinces, these two fields are matched to Guangdong province, but the final display results will not be merged, but stacked.
The world map in the map configuration will not display complete geographic information of other countries.
But the world-area.json file under %FineBI%\webapps\webroot\WEB-INF\assets\map\geographic contains the geographic information of all other countries, and the geographic role page can be matched.
