1 Overview

1.1 Expected effect

Applied to the map, it can intuitively realize the drill down of the geographic area, as shown in the following figure:

1.2 Implementation ideas

The map drill is slightly different from other charts. You need to drag the created drill directory field into any column under the graph properties, including any one of color, label, prompt, or fine-grained.

2. Example

2.1 Create a drill directory

1) For example, if you want to create customer distribution data drilled from province to city, after creating a new component, select the customer dimension table under the sales DEMO business package, select the province field under the dimension to be analyzed, and convert it to a geographic role. Detailed steps The reference dimensions are transformed into geographic roles. As shown below:

2) Also convert the city field to a geographic role to generate the longitude and latitude fields of the city, as shown in the following figure:

3) After the latitude and longitude fields are converted, drag the city field to the province field to create a province-city drill directory, as shown in the following figure:

4) The name of the drill directory is automatically generated, as shown in the figure below, click OK to save. As shown below:

Provinces and cities have also automatically generated latitude and longitude drill-through fields, as shown in the following figure:

2.2 Create a chart

1) Drag the province, city (longitude) and province, city (latitude) fields to the horizontal and vertical axis, and select the area map display in the chart type, as shown in the figure below:

2) The provinces covered by the customer are shown in the chart, but the drilling effect has not been achieved yet. We need to drag the province and city of the created drill directory field to the "color, label, prompt, and fine-grained ones" under the graphic properties Any one is fine." For example, drag the field to fine-grained, as shown in the following figure:

Note: If you want to display different colors or different labels according to provinces and cities here, and the same will be displayed after drilling down, then drag the drilling directory of "Province, City" to the color or label column under the graphic properties. 

2.3 Effect view

Click any province area in the map, a drill box will appear, click drill down to drill down to that province, and then click all to return to the overall picture. As shown below:
