If there are many fields in the user's data set, the data set fields need to be grouped and managed so that business users can quickly find the required dimensions and indicators during analysis.
FineBI provides a field grouping function. Users can group and manage fields at data preparation, and use them at self-service data sets and dashboards.
Note: You must have the editing permission of the corresponding data table before you can group the fields. If you don't have the permission, please assign the editing permission to the user first.
First select a table.
Click "Field Grouping", a dialog box will pop up and click "Add a Group", add 4 groups and name them, as shown in the figure below:
Note: The group name cannot be repeated and cannot be the same as the ungrouped field name, and the group name cannot be empty.
Select the field under "Ungrouped", click "Move to" and select the group to be moved to, add the corresponding field under the group, and click "OK", as shown in the following figure:
Note 1: The newly added fields are ungrouped by default.
Note 2: Deleting a data set means deleting the corresponding group settings; saving as a data set means saving the corresponding group settings.
On the self-service data set field selection interface, select "FRDemo_ORDERS", you can see the 4 groups in the data preview interface, expand and check the required fields, as shown in the following figure:
Note: When the self-service data set field is added after the field grouping is set, the new field will be ungrouped by default.
On the left and right merge interface of the self-service dataset, select the corresponding field of the "FRDemo_ORDERS" and click "OK", as shown in the figure below:
Create a new dashboard, select the dataset, you can see the fields are stored under the corresponding group
Create a filter component to see the field grouping of the dataset.
Note 1: If field grouping is used, and the copied field is in the original grouping, the new field pasted is still in the grouping. If the fields are not grouped, they are still ungrouped.
Note 2: If drill-down directory is created on a field, it will move out of the group. If there is only one field in the group, the group will not be displayed after the field is added to the drill-down directory.
Only supports searching for field names, not group names. As shown below:
After the dimensions and indicators are converted, they are still under the corresponding group. When the corresponding dimension/indicator does not have a corresponding group, the group is created.
When there are many fields, you can use the search function to search for fields. For example, if you need to find the fields related to the date, search for "date" in the search box and check "select all fields" to select and move the fields as shown in the following figure:
Note: The results of search are sorted according to the field matching degree from high to low.
Hover the mouse over the group, click "Delete", a dialog box pops up, click "OK", as shown in the figure below:
All the fields under the group will return to be ungrouped, as shown in the figure below:
