For tasks already created in Data Development and Data Pipeline, you may want to send email notifications of task execution results to the corresponding users.
You can receive and send emails in FineDataLink. To receive or send emails, you need to configure email account information.
1. You can add multiple system sender email addresses and set System Default Sender.
2. You can view historical email sending records and query sending records based on conditions such as the sender, receiver email, and template name.
To use the Mailbox function, ensure connectivity between the FineDataLink system and the email server.
1. For external email servers such as QQ Mail and 163 Mailbox, ensure that the FineDataLink project can access the external network normally.
2. If you use an internal email server, connectivity to the external network is not needed. Just ensure connectivity between the FineDataLink project and the email server.
There are two steps:
1. Add a sender.
2. Select the default sender from the added senders.
Log in to the FineDataLink system as the admin, choose System Management > System Setting > Mailbox, click Add Sender, and configure the sender account, as shown in the following figure.
The following table describes the Sender Account Setting items.
Mail Server (SMTP)
Allows you to select a mail server.
You can select the appropriate mail server from the drop-down list.
You can manually input the mail server with the format SMTP.Email suffix.
Port and Encryption Method
Allows you to set Port and Encryption Method for email service.
By default, Port is set to 25 and Encryption Method is set to TLS Encryption. Generally no modification is required.
When you configure the mail server, if the server does not support the default port 25, or the SMTP server (for example, Sina Mail) does not support SSL encryption, you need to modify the port number or set the encryption method accordingly.
Three encryption methods are available: SSL Encryption, TLS Encryption, and No Encryption.
1. You are advised to use the more secure TLS protocol.
2. If you want to set Encryption Method, ensure that the certificate used for encryption has been added to the Java trusted certificate list. Otherwise, the client will be unable to read the encrypted response.
Sender Address
Allows you to enter the sender email address.
Only one sender account can be added at a time.
The sender email address can contain the number sign (#) and the ampersand (&).
Password
Most email accounts only require entering the email password.
QQ Mail, 163 Mailbox, Tencent Exmail, and Outlook require filling in an authorization code. For details, see section "Enabling POP3/SMTP Service and Generating the Authorization Code."
Displayed Name
Name of the email sender, which can be manually edited and filled in.
This item is required. Leaving it blank will cause the email configuration to be unrecognized during email sending in FineDataLink.
Send Test Mail
Allows you to test whether the mail server is configured successfully.
After configuring Sender Account Setting, click Send Test Mail, set Mail Recipient, and click OK.
The content of the test mail received by the recipient is "Congratulation! Your mail server is configured successfully." This indicates that the mail server is successfully configured.
Click OK. Thus, the recipient is added successfully.
The email body is displayed in HTML format. Fonts that are not supported will be displayed as SimSun font.
The unsupported fonts are those that contain special symbols, such as spaces and hyphens (-), in the font names. For example, Windding 3 is not supported.
FineDataLink allows configuring multiple sender addresses and editing/deleting sender addresses, as shown in the following figure.
After adding the senders, you (as the admin) can select one of the added senders as System Default Sender. Click Save to make your configuration take effect, as shown in the following figure.
After enabling POP3/SMTP service, you can send and receive emails in the client. If POP3/SMTP service is not enabled, this may result in email configuration failure.
Currently, when you configure the sender account using QQ or 163 email addresses, an authorization code is required for verification.
Log in to QQ Mail, click the xxx icon, and click Account and Security. Find POP3/IMAP/SMTP/Exchange/CardDAV Service and click Enable.
Follow the prompt to send an SMS for security verification. A prompt will appear, displaying POP3/SMTP service authorization code. Set Password to the authorization code rather than the email password in Sender Account Setting under System Management > System Setting > Mailbox, as shown in the following figure.
Log in to 163 Mailbox, choose Settings > POP3/SMTP/IMAP, and click the Enable button next to POP3/SMTP service, as shown in the following figure.
After you click Enable, the Account Security Reminder window will appear. Enter the SMS code and click Verify to complete verification, as shown in the following figure.
After verification is completed, a prompt will appear, saying "POP3/SMTP service opened successfully." Set Password to the authorization code rather than the email password in Sender Account Setting under System Management > System Setting > Mailbox, as shown in the following figure.
1. Enabling POP/SMTP Service
Log in to Tencent Exmail, choose Set > Client Settings, and find Enable Service.
Tick Enable POP/SMTP Service and click Save Changes.
2. Obtaining the Port and Encryption Method
Log in to Tencent Exmail, choose Set > Client Settings, and find Outgoing mail server in How To set.
When configuring the sender account in FineDataLink, the encryption method and port must match those of the sending server. (For example, in the following figure, the port is 465, and the encryption method is SSL.)
3. Getting the Client-Specific Code
Click WeChatLink to configure the linking to WeChat, as shown in the following figure.
After successful linking, click Enable secure login, as shown in the following figure.
After clicking this button, you need to log in to the mailbox again. You cannot log in with the original password. For the web version, use WeChat to scan the code. For the client, use Client-specific code to log in.
Choose Settings > WeChatLink to link the mailbox to WeChat first. After Enable secure login is clicked, click Generate New Password in client-specific password in "Link to WeChat", as shown in the following figure.
When configuring the sender account in FineDataLink, enter the client password shown in the following figure, not the email password.
Before adding the sender account, you need to collect the following information:
Mail Server (SMTP): IP address of the mail server
Sender Address: Exchange email address
Password: the login password for Exchange email address
Log in to the FineDataLink system as the admin, choose System Management > System Setting > Mailbox, click Add Sender, and configure the sender account. Fill in the collected information in advance and select No Encryption as Encryption Method, as shown in the following figure.
Click OK. Thus, the recipient is added successfully, as shown in the following figure.
You can query the system's historical email sending records based on conditions such as the sender, receiver email, template name, and email sending date.
The sending record displays information such as the sender, IP address, receiver email, template name, accessed resource, sending time, and sending result, as shown in the following figure.
