In some cases, you may forget the password or need to modify it.
This document provides different solutions for different users.
Log in to FineDataLink, click the username in the upper-right corner, and then click Account Setting, as shown in the following figure.
Modify the password following the prompt, click OK, and click Complete. In this case, the password is successfully modified.
The method only applies to synchronized users.
Open the corresponding database file of the server dataset for the synchronized user, find the account and password of the user, and modify the password, as shown in the following figure.
Log in to FineDataLink as the admin, and choose System Management > User Management > All Users > Manage User Sync > Sync Now, as shown in the following figure.
After the synchronization is completed, the user can log in to FineDataLink with the new password.
If Reset Password by SMS or Reset Password by Email in Password Policy Settingis configured, users who forget their passwords can modify their passwords with the help of SMS messages and emails during login, as shown in the following figure.
Log in to FineDataLink as the admin, choose System Management > User Management, find the corresponding user, click the xxx icon, choose Generate User Password > Copy Password, and click OK, as shown in the following figure.
The user can log in to FineDataLink using this randomly generated password. It is recommended that the user click the icon next to the username in the upper right corner after login, click Account Setting, modify the password following the prompt, click OK, and click Complete, as shown in the following figure.
FineDataLink has enhanced the security of the password change API. When a user changes the password, the original password must be entered for verification.
1. The correct previous password must by entered within five attempts. After the first wrong password input, it prompts "Wrong password. The account will be locked after wrong passwords are entered for 4 more times."
2. If the user continues to enter a wrong password after five wrong inputs, it prompts "You have input incorrect passwords for too many times. Re-try it in 15 minutes or contact the administrator."
You (the admin) can help change the password by referring to the "Password Reset on the Platform by the Admin" section of this document. After that, the user can log in to the system with the new password.
