Admin Modifying/Resetting Password

Function Description

Admins often encounter scenarios in which passwords are forgotten or need to be modified.

Note:

This section applies to scenarios where you (the admin) forget the password and want to reset it.

You (the super admin) can modify the value of the SystemConfig.serverInit parameter in the FINE_CONF_ENTITY table in the FineDB database to fail.

Restart FineDataLink after modification to apply the change.

This operation is risky. Perform the operation carefully to avoid causing irreversible consequences.

Note:

This section applies to a scenario where you (the admin) remember the original password and need to modify it.

Log in to FineDataLink, click the username in the upper-right corner, and then click Account Setting, as shown in the following figure.

Modify the password following the prompt, click OK, and click Complete. In this case, the password is successfully modified.

FineDataLink has improved the security of the password change API. When you change the password, you must enter the original password for verification.

1. The correct previous password must by entered within five attempts. After the first wrong password input, it prompts "Wrong password. The account will be locked after wrong passwords are entered for 4 more times."

2. If you continue to enter a wrong password after five wrong inputs, it prompts "You have input incorrect passwords for too many times. Re-try it in 15 minutes or contact the administrator."

You can wait 15 minutes and try again, or change your password by referring to the "Password Reset upon Password Forgetting" section of this document. After that, you can log in to the system with the new password.
