GIS Background/Layer

  • I. Overview

    1) GIS map layers refer to basemap layers which are displayed by referencing tile map data from map service providers.

    2) In addition to such built-in basemaps as midnight style map, fresh style map, elegant style map, satellite map and mapbox style map, FineReport also support custom basemaps.

    II. Steps

    1. Click [Manage] > [Map Configuration] > [GIS Background]


    2. Add GIS background

    1) Click [+] next to GIS Background

    2) Input the name of GIS background in the pop-up dialog box.

    3) Click [OK] and the GIS background is successfully added.

     


    3. Edit the name of GIS background

    1) Move the mouse over the name you want to edit, and an Edit button will appear on the right of it.

    2) Click  button and modify the name in the pop-up dialog box. 

    3) Click [OK] and the name is successfully modified.


    4. Delete GIS background

    1) Move the mouse over the name you want to edit, and a Delete button will appear on the right of it.

    2) Click  button and a dialog box that asks if you are sure to delete GIS background will pop up.

    3) Click [OK] and GIS background is successfully deleted.


    5. Customize tileLayer

    1) Input URL to the custom background.

    2) Input custom Attribute and add styles in html and css.

    3) The custom Attribute will be shown at the right bottom of the map.

    6. Customize WMS

    1) Check [WMS] and maps can be shown in offline mode when connected to local LAN.

    2) Input GetCapabilities request. For example: http://webmapping.mgis.psu.edu/geoserver/wms?. According to corresponding WMS protocol,  FineReport will capture available map layers for user choice and there is no need to input more detailed information about such may layers.


    7. Load map layers

    Click on [Load Map Layers] button to preview the map effect.


    8. Zoom in or out on the map

    By zooming in or out on the map, you can view the effect of different map layers:

    • Click [+] in the upper left corner of the map to zoom in.

    • Click [-] in the upper left corner of the map to zoom out.


    9. Save and reset

    1) When the map is created, click [Save].

    2) If there is any wrong setting, click [Reset] and current settings will be erased.
