    Function Description

    This document introduces the page layout and functions of FVS dashboards in detail.

    Visualization Dashboard Creation

    Choose File > New FineVis Visualization Dashboard in the upper left corner of the designer. The Homepage tab is opened by default.

    Creating a Blank Visualization Dashboard

    Click Create Blank FVS Dashboard, and set Visualization Dashboard Name, Canvas Size, and Template Style.

    1. Common Size and Custom Size are supported in Canvas Size.

    • Common Size: HD Screen (1280 * 720 px), UHD Screen (1920 * 1080 px), 2K Screen (2560 * 1440 px), and Wide Screen (4864 * 1294 px)

    You can double-click the size area to quickly create an FVS dashboard, with the FineVis Data Visualization plugin of V2.1.0 or later versions.
    • Custom Size: You can manually enter the canvas width and height (unit: px; value range: 1 to 50000 px).

    2. Built-in Style and Custom Style are supported in Template Style. For details, see FVS Template Style.

    Page Overview

    The following figure shows the creation page of an FVS visualization dashboard.

    Menu Bar

    Allows you to select New FineVis Visualization Dashboard from the drop-down list of File to create an FVS visualization dashboard.

    File Area

    Saves all the templates in the current FineReport project.

    Data Source

    Allows you to set template datasets and server datasets that can be called in templates.

    Template Tab Bar

    • Allows you to open multiple FVS templates simultaneously.

    • Allows you to create an FVS template by clicking the  Snag_1c3631d.png  icon on the far left.

    • Allows you to switch between FVS and non-FVS templates by clicking the xxx icon on the right.

    Component Bar

    Displays the icons and names of component categories. You can click a specified category and select the required component from the drop-down component list to add the component to the page for editing.

    Action Bar

    Allows you to undo and redo actions.

    1. In FineReport with the plugin of V2.10.0 or earlier versions, you can combine, ungroup, delete, align, and adjust the hierarchy of components on the action bar.

    2. In FineReport with the plugin of V2.10.0 or later versions, the function entries for component combination and alignment are moved to the configuration area (serial number: 13). The buttons for deleting and adjusting the hierarchy of components are removed. You can select the component, right-click it, and select the required function from the drop-down list to perform the corresponding operation.

    Template Setting Area

    • After creating a blank FVS dashboard, you can switch theme styles of the current template by clicking the Switch Theme Style button in the upper right corner of the template.

    • Allows you to set the FVS template by clicking Template Setting.

    In FineReport with the plugin of V2.10.0 or earlier versions, the template setting entry is under Template > FVS Template Setting in the upper left corner of the designer.

    Saving and Preview Area

    Allows you to save or preview the template by clicking Save/Preview after creation.

    In FineReport with the plugin of V2.1.1 or later versions, you can switch between the PC and mobile modes by selecting from the  Snag_1a3d00db.png  icons to change the functional configurations and preview effects.

    Component Layer Area

    • Displays all the components on the currently selected page.

    • Allows you to rename or delete components.

    • Allows you to adjust the hierarchy by dragging components.

    • Allows you to hide or lock components.

    • Allows you to collapse/expand the component layer area by clicking the  Snag_11099917.png  button on the left of the canvas attribute area (serial number 12).

    • Allows you to pin the component layer area to the left/right side of the canvas by selecting from the Snag_110b57bf.png icons in the upper right corner of the component layer area.

    Canvas Body Area

    The body of an FVS dashboard is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) design area.

    • Allows you to check the effect directly after the component addition or adjustment without the need to save or preview the template.

    • Allows you to open only one page of an FVS template at the same time.

    • Allows you to add components within the canvas. Content outside the canvas cannot be displayed during the preview.

    • Allows you to align components using the canvas auxiliary lines. For details, see Canvas Auxiliary Line.

    Canvas Pagination Area

    • Allows you to add multiple pages in one FVS template.

    • Allows you to configure Preview Playback Setting for multiple pages.

    Canvas Attribute Area

    • Allows you to modify the size, adaptation mode, and zoom level of the canvas.

    • The buttons on the left are the Component Layer button and the Hotkey button.

    Configuration Area

    • Allows you to configure the background and transition effect for the current page when no component is selected.

    • Allows you to configure the content, interaction, animation, and style of a selected component.

    • Allows you to adjust the size, position, layout, and spacing of multiple selected components. You can click Combine to combine the selected components.

    The Spacing function is newly added in the plugin of V2.10.0, and can only be used when more than two components are selected.
