1. Enable Hierarchical Authorization in Global Setting
Go to Manage -> Permission -> Global Setting. Enable Hierarchical Authorization and Edit Directory. Click Save.
2. User Interface
The View, Edit and Authorize permissions of Directory can be assigned to a Dept./Role/User on the right, and receptors with Authorize permission are able to view and edit on directories, or assign relevant Manage and Directory Permissions to other users.
Note: please refer to Hierarchical Authority Allocation for more information
III. Example
We'll take Sun Hong (id: Lily, pwd: 123456) as an example to show how to assign Directory Management permissions after enabling Hierarchical Authorization in Global Setting.
1. Directory Permissions
Assign the View and Authorize permission of directory "Report" to Sun Hong (Lily) in Directory Permissions, as shown below:
Note: the Edit permission constantly comes with View permission, and those who have Authorize permission will definitely have View and Edit permissions.
2. Personnel Management
Go to Personnel Management and assign Authorize permission of Technical support to Sun Hong:
3. Manage
Go to tab Manage and assign View permissions of Directory, User and Permission to Sun Hong.
Note: users can edit in Directory once system administrators assigned View permission of this directory to them.
4. View Results
1) Login the platform as Sun Hong (id: Lily, pwd: 123456). Now she can assign View, Edit and Authorize permissions of directory "Report" to users from Technical support.
2) Also, she is able to edit the Report part under Directory.
