Local and Server Preview Effects are Inconsistent

  • Last update:  2020-12-10
  • I. Scenarios

    After completing the design of a report on the Designer and having it deployed to the server for preview, the following scenarios may occur:

    • It seems normal in local preview, but an error is reported after being deployed to the server;

    • Different preview effects on local PC and the sever; and

    • Previous effect is maintained on the server even after the template is modified.

    II. Root Causes

    In general, the above-mentioned scenarios can be attributed to the following two reasons:

    1. There may be differences between the template in the Designer and that in the server; and

    2. The version of JAR package in the Designer may be different from that in the server.

    III. Troubleshooting

    1. Check if the same template is used

    Check if the template in preview in local PC is the same as the one deployed in the server. In case of different templates, copy the local template to the server.

    2. Check if the same JAR package version is used

    Check if the JAR package used in the server has the same date with that in the Designer. In case of inconsistent dates, copy the JAR package in the Designer to the server.

    a) Check the version of JAR package in the Designer: Click [Help]-[About Software] to check the version information of JAR package, as shown in the following diagram.

    b) Check the version information of JAR package in the server: Go to the Decision-making Platform (http://localhost:8075/webroot/decision/login), and click [Manage]-[Registration]-[Version Information] to check the version information of JAR package in the server, as shown in the following diagram.

    Note: If inconsistent preview effect persists in local PC and in the server after performing troubleshooting as above, please seek technical support via support@fanruan.com for further investigation.
