  • I. Overview

Use Google Sheets files as a report data source, either as a template dataset or as a server dataset.

Currently, only template and server datasets can be added to the designer, not to the decision platform.

For plug-in installation, please refer to Designer Plugin Mangement.

    II.Create new data connection

    1. Operation steps

Click on 「Server > Define Data Connection > +」 in the toolbar and select Google Drive.

    2. Google Drive Authorisation

Click the 「」 button to bring up the Google Authorisation page and select the Google account you want to authorise.

Check the box for the range you want FineReport to access.

When you return to the designer, you will see that the Google account you are logged into is successfully authorised.

    1.Operation steps

Creating new datasets supports the creation of new template datasets and server datasets.
To create a new template set, click on 「Templates > Template dataset > +」 in the toolbar and select

    Google Sheets」.
You can also click on the 「+」 button in the bottom left corner of the current template screen, above the template data set, and select 「Google Sheets」.
To create a new server dataset click on the toolbar 「Server > Server Dataset > +」 and select 「Google Sheets」.

    2. Select the Google Sheets sheet to be used.

Click on the link drop-down box to see all the Google Sheets links in the current environment and click on the name of the desired link.

If you have too many sheets, you can search for them by entering the sheet name in the search box below and selecting the sheet you need by clicking on it.

    3. Data Sheet Attribute Settings

When a data sheet is selected, it will automatically bring up Sheet Information, including the sheet ID, owner, last updated time and last updated by, so that you can confirm the accuracy of the form data.

「The Value Range is a required field and is used to set the specific data to be used, e.g. Sheet1!A1:B2, to obtain the data from cell A1 to cell B2 in Sheet1.
    The
value range supports the setting of parameters, e.g. ${para1}! ${para2}:${para3}.
The default column name is First column as column header, or you can click the drop-down box to select Default column header, which means that all data in the value range does not include the header column.

    4. Sheet Preview

Once you have selected a sheet , you can click the  button to preview the Google table in your browser and confirm the accuracy of the sheet.

After setting up each attribute of the table, you can click on the 「」 button to preview the specific information that will be used in the report.
