Switch working directory

1) You can install multiple FineReport projects in one PC or server. FineReport allows you to manage working directories of these report projects and realize switching among the projects.

2) After switching the working directory, the designer only display templates stored under current working directory.

3) The working directory includes: local directory and remote server.

1. Click [File]-[Switch Working Directory]

1) Default: The working directory where the designer is located, i.e. the current working directory.

2) Select Others… to edit the working directory or add a new working directory.

2. Click [+] to add [Local Directory]

1) In the right-hand file directory, select the location: webapps\webroot\WEB-INF under FineReport directory path.

2) In the left-hand working directory list, double click the name of the working directory to rename it.

3) The built-in JDK version in the presentation is FineReport 1.7, so rename it to FineReport 1.7.

3. Switch the working directory

1) In the left-hand working directory list, select [1.7] and click OK.

2) The report designer enables auto switch of the working directory. Upon switching, the working directory will be displayed at the top of the report designer.

4. Switch Directory

Click File->Switch Working Directory, select default, and the working directory will be automatically switched.

5. Add [Remote Server]

1) Click File->Switch Working Directoryand select Others….

2) Click + and select Remote Server.

6. Configure the Remote Server

1) The Remote Server has been configured with a Decision System Account.

2) Enter the Remote Server IP address and the FineReport port. Enter the username and password of the administrator.

3) Click Test Connection to check if the connection is successful.

4) If the connection is successful, click OK to switch to the FineReport working directory.

Note: 

For versions after 2020-07-08, user can choose to remember password or not.

For versions after 2020-11-02, password length (for both platform account and HTTPS setting) is shown as the actual length when entering the password; password length will all become 8 digits when re-open this window.

7. Switch Directory

Click File->Switch Working Directory, selectendemo, and the working directory will be automatically switched.

8. Co-production

When multiple users are connecting to the same server, each template can only be edited by one user.

If the template is already opened by one user, there will show "locked" after the template name.

Only when the user closes this template, other users can open it after refreshing the folder.
