2. Introduction

The specific watermark features supported by FineRport10.0 are as follows:

 • Watermark Content: type in texts, formulas and parameters to generate the content of watermarks.

 • Font Size: size of the watermark fonts.

 • Watermark Interval: used to set the density of watermarks, and can be configured horizontally and vertically in px.

 • Watermark Color: color of watermarks.

Note: Watermark Interval feature is available on jar version released on and after 5th Dec, 2019.

Watermark can be configured individually for a template in the designer, or configured globally for all templates on the platform. This section will focus on configuring watermarks on the platform.

The effect of watermarks are shown as below:

3. Configure Global Watermark

1) Enable Global Watermark

Login the platform and go to Manage -> Security -> Global Watermark. Turn on Global Watermark and configure the contents as well as properties of watermarks:

 • Watermark Content: choose from Custom Formula, Username, IP and Current Time in the drop-down field. The default custom formula is set as "=$fine_username + getIp()", i.e. username + IP address.

 • Watermark Color: gray by default.

 • Font Size: 20 by default.

 • Watermark Interval: "Horizontal 200, Vertical 100" by default.

Note:

 • Watermarks will be applied on the right instantly after configured so that users can easily preview them.

 • XML content needs to be wrapped in "<![CDATA[]]>".

 • Horizontal watermark interval should not be less than 100, and vertically 50. Negative values are not allowed.

2) Modify the content

4. Configure Watermark for Templates

Individual watermarks for templates are allowed to be configured in the designer, and will only be applied to configured templates.

Note: if the configuration of individual watermarks for templates is done after enabling Global Watermark, individual watermarks are to display with priority.

5. Important Note

1) Only PDF files exported have watermarks on pages. Word and Excel files will not be watermarked.

2) Watermark is supported in the generated reports of .cpr and .frr format from Task Schedule.

3) For IE 11 or older versions, the on-screen effect of watermarks is generally the same. In some versions, however, there might be overlapping issues due to compatibility, which can be easily fixed with newer versions of browsers.

4) Watermarks will be adjusted according to the size of papers in Pagination Preview, and displayed based on content size in New Data Entry Preview. As for Data Entry Preview, Data Analysis and Dashboard Preview, it will be displayed all over the Web page.

5) Even though the watermarks effect is adjusted based on the content size in New Data Entry Preview, once exported into PDF file, the entire page will be watermarked.
