I. Download the FineReport installation package编辑
1. Enter the product download page
Visit the FineReport official website (https://www.finereport.com/en/) and click [Product]>[Download].
2. Select a product version
FineReport can be installed in Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit and MacOS systems. Please select the version that matches your PC system.
3. View the number of bits of the Windows system
1) If a Windows user is not certain whether the system is a 32-bit or 64-bit one, he/she may right-click [This PC], select [Properties] and view the control panel.
2) In the figure below, the control panel shows that the system is 64-bit.
4. Select a download channel
1) To help global users to download the product quickly, each version of FineReport can be downloaded through three channels: Europe, Asia-Pacific and East-US.
2) Users can choose the nearest channel to the regions where they are.
5. Complete download
The browser will automatically download FineReport. After download is completed, an executable file will appear, which is the FineReport installation package.
II. Install FineReport编辑
1. Open the installation package
Double-click the FineReport installation package or right-click it and select [Open as administrator] to enter the installation wizard.
2. Click [Next]
3. Select [I accept the agreement] and click [Next]
4. Set the installation directory
1) Click [Browse] and select D drive, which means the FineReport project will be installed in D drive.
2) Name the project as FineReport_10.0.
3) Click [Next].
5. Set the maximum memory
1) The maximum memory means the maximum memory your PC will assign to FineReport, which is by default 2048M (i.e. 2G). If the PC itself has a larger memory, then more maximum memory can be assigned.
2) Click [Next].
6. Create a folder in the Start menu
Check “Create a Start Menu folder” and click [Next].
7. Create shortcuts
Check “Create Quick Start Icon” and “Add Desktop Shortcuts”, and then click [Next].
8. Select file associations
1) It is recommended to check both. Both *.cpt and *.frm are FineReport-specific file formats. After file associations are set, if you double-click the *.cpt or *.frm file, FineReport will automatically start to open the file.
2) Click [Next].
9. Start installation
The progress bar indicates installation progress, please wait patiently.
10. Complete installation
1) It is recommended to uncheck [run demo].
2) Click [Finish].
III. FineReport installation directory编辑
1. Enter FineReport installation directory
1) In this article, the installation directory is D:\FineReport_10.0, where you will see a series of project files.
2) Each file/folder stores the following content.

designerbackup | Historical JAR packages. Older versions of JAR will be automatically backed up when the designer is manually updated, so that users can restore an old version in the future. The folder will not be generated immediately after installation. |
iisFilter | Files used to integrate IIS. |
jre | The environment required for Java to run. |
lib | JAR packages required for the designer to run. |
logs | System logs. |
plugins | Plugins used in the remote design mode. |
server | Configuration files of the built-in Web server, which is used to preview reports. |
webapps | Web applications. |
uninstall.exe | FineReport uninstaller. |
2. Open FineReport in the installation directory
1) Open the FineReport designer through the shortcut created at installation
2) If there is no shortcut created, open the folder bin and find the application named designer, double-click it to open the FineReport designer.
3. Enter the webroot directory
1) Enter %FR_HOME%\webapps\webroot, where you will see the following folders

4. Enter the WEB-INF directory
1) WEB-INF is the working directory of the designer in report development, which contains the following folders.
