You may hope to sort a column of data in the created cross table.
For example, you use the Contract Information table to create a transaction volume cross table containing Registration Time and Contract Type. In this case, you want to sort the data of 2017 in descending order and view the corresponding contract volume for the contract type in 2017.
Copy the indicator field Contract Volume that needs to be sorted, and use Detail filtering to filter out the data that needs to be sorted separately.
Drag the copied indicator field into Result Filter.
Set the row dimension to be sorted based on the field dragged into Result Filter.
Sample data: Contract Information.xlsx
To sort Contract Type of 2017, you need to first filter the data of 2017 (while other year's data still needs to be displayed in the cross table).
The solution is to copy the Contract Volume field and use Detail filtering (equal to adding a column to the base table and filtering to the data of 2017).
1. Copy the indicator field Contract Volume that needs to be sorted.
2. Use Detail Filtering to filter out the Contract Volume data of 2017 that needs to be sorted separately.
Enter the filtering condition: YEAR(Registration Time)=YEAR("2017/01/01")
1. Set Registration Time to be grouped by year.
2. Drag Contract Volume 1 into Result Filter.
Set the Contract Type field in the row dimension to be sorted in descending order based on the Contract Volume 1 field.
If the grouping criterion in section "Setting the Sorting Criterion" is set to YM (year and month), the filter condition can be set to LEFT(Registration Time,7)="2017-04".
Ensure that the copied fields can accurately filter the data that needs to be sorted.
