Application Scenario

Currently, FineBI components automatically send data query requests every time there is a change in dimension, indicator, and other query conditions. For example, the components you have created continuously send data query requests to the engine as you drag fields. In the extraction mode and scenarios with small data volumes, the engine can respond quickly, and you can enjoy an ultimate analysis experience in FineBI similar to the C/S architecture. However, in scenarios with large data volumes and some scenarios with data volumes of ten millions, this strategy often leads to a bad user experience.

Implementation Method

Set Manual Preview Reminder (s) under BI Parameter as the admin.

After the parameter is set, if the component data query time exceeds the set parameter value, a prompt will pop up to advise you to enable the Manual Preview function. Enabling the function can lower query pressures on the engine.

Adjusting BI Parameters

Log in to the FineBI system as the admin, choose System Management > System Setting > General, and expand Advanced Tuning Parameter under BI Parameter. Manual Preview Reminder (s) is disabled and empty by default.

Enter a value to set Manual Preview Reminder (s) and click Save.

This parameter can take effect without restarting the server.

Enabling Manual Preview

The Manual Preview option appears in the component preview area, and a prompt pops up if the loading time exceeds the set manual preview reminder time, advising you to enable the manual preview function.

After ticking Manual Preview, edit the component analysis area fields. Then the Preview Latest Data button is displayed in the preview area. Click the button to preview the data.

Demonstration

For example, add or remove fields and add quick calculations. After you click Preview Latest Data, the component loads and displays the corresponding data.
