The partitioned line chart displays the changing trend and different categories of data by connecting data points into line segments and using lines of different colors or styles in different areas.
For example, you can display the comparison of wind speed trends in two cities during the same period by using a partitioned line chart, as shown in the following figure.
The following table describes the basic requirements for partitioned line charts.
Partitioned Line Chart
> = 1
1. Advantage
Clear display of the data trend: The partitioned line chart shows the changing trend of data over time or other independent variables through lines, allowing you to see the increase or decrease of the data easily.
Intuitive comparison of the multi-category data: The partitioned line chart differentiates different data categories through different colors or line styles, making it possible to display multiple data series in the same chart for easier comparison and analysis.
2. Disadvantage
Visual complexity: If too many data series or categories are displayed in a partitioned line chart, the chart may become overly complex and cluttered, making it difficult for you to extract useful information from the chart.
Limitation of the data volume: When processing large amounts of data, the partitioned line chart may become unsuitable, because too many data points may make the chart crowded and difficult to distinguish different lines.
1. Log in to FineBI, click My Analysis, select a folder, and click New Subject, as shown in the following figure.
