Function Description

You need to perform an upgrade check for BI 5.1 before upgrading the project to 6.0, avoiding known upgrade risks as much as possible.

Upgrade check requires the installation of the FR/BI Upgrade Detection Tool plugin.

Plugin Installation

Choose System Management > Plugin Management and install the FR/BI Upgrade Detection Tool plugin. For details about how to install plugins, see Plugin Management.

After plugin installation, Upgrade Check appears on the left navigation bar, as shown in the following figure.

Note:

1. You need to install the upgrade tool of the latest version, because the old upgrade tool may check incomplete content.

2. You are not advised to use the IE browser, because the entry may not be displayed after plugin installation in IE.

Upgrade Notes

1. Click Upgrade Check, read Upgrade Notes, and back up the BI project according to the requirements.

2. After backup, check Have Read Above Notes and click Next.

Click OK in the pop-up prompt.

Backup instructions:

Click Manual Backup on the Platform Configuration, Report Template, JAR Package, and Plugin tab pages respectively under System Management > Intelligent O&M > Backup & Restoration. For details, see Backup and Restoration.

• If a prompt indicates that the current environment is a built-in database and does not support the backup and restoration function under System Management > Intelligent O&M > Backup & Restoration, manually copy the dashboards, embed, lib, plugins, reportlets, and resource folders in %FineBI%/webroot/WEB-INF and paste them to %FineBI%/webroot/backup.

Upgrade Check

 The system check may take a while to finish.

1. After the check, only blocking and warning risks are displayed on the page. Click Export to export the update_log.xlsx file listing all risks, as shown in the following figure.

Note:

The blocking item must be dealt with before the upgrade.

2. After addressing the identified risks, re-perform the risk check. For details, see List of Upgrade Risks and Corrective Measures.

3. If no risk item exists, click Next. Then you need to delete dirty data, modify risk configurations, and perform other required operations.

Check Finishing

After the check, you can proceed to Upgrade to Version 6.0.
