Application Scenarios
For dashboards made from enterprise data, direct sharing of the dashboard will inevitably leak data to some extent. Therefore, permission control is needed to determine which users have sharing permissions and which users can be shared with.
Functions
FineBI has added dashboard sharing permission control function, which is helpful for admins to manage and control permission. Admins can allow the shared dashboard to display different data. The default defaults to data permissions of the template creator, which means that the data seen by other shared users is consistent with what the template creator sees.
By default, the dashboard sharing permission is not enabled. All users can share the dashboards they create and can also share them with all system users. Only admins can control the sharing permission, which has no hierarchical setting.
Examples
For example, assign permissions to eoco, so that eoco can share the dashboards he created with the Technical support department.
Setting User Type
In the Platform User interface, if there is No limit on user number of PC User and its subcategories, then there is no need to follow the procedures in this section.
In the Platform User interface, if the number of users in PC User and in its subcategories is limited, you need to follow the procedures in this section, otherwise you cannot view the dashboard.
The admin logs into FineBI, clicks Manage > User > Platform User, and adds the user eoco to BI design user.
Enabling Dashboard-Share to Directory Control
The super admin logs into FineBI, goes to Manage > Permission > Global Setting, enables Dashboard-Share to Directory Control, and clicks Save.
Configuring Permission of Dashboard-Share to Directory Control
The admin logs into FineBI, clicks Manage > Permission > General permission configuration, and selects the permission carrier Dept./Role or users from User List.
Click Share Authorization tab and configure the permission of Share Dashboard to Directory for eoco.
After going to the Permission interface, you can configure which users can be shared with. By default, it is not configured to anyone.
Note: Permission allocation can only be set for Dept./Role. If a user does not belong to any Dept. or Role, even if other users have not been assigned the permission to share dashboards with the user, by default, other users can still share dashboards with the user.
Demonstration
Sharing Dashboard with Otherseoco logs into FineBI, clicks My Analysis and can share the dashboard with authorized users.
eoco can choose whether to select Use data permission of creator. Click OK finally.
The description of the Use data permission of creator button is shown in the table below:

Note:

2. If the Add super admin plugin is installed, roles that support sharing can add super admins and share dashboards with them.
