Application Scenarios

If you want all employees in your department to have permissions of personnel, directory, and system management, you can assign permissions for them based on department.

Functions

Assigning permissions based on department and position means to assign permissions of viewing directory, managing platform, and connecting data based on department and position.

Assigning Directory Permission

The admin logs into FineBI and clicks Manage > Permission > General permission configuration > Permission Quick Configuration.

Select Sales department in Dept., go to Directory > Platform Directory > Business Application, and assign permissions for Sales.

Assigning Data Permission

The dashboard in Business Application includes data in Pareto Data Analysis in Public Data. Therefore, you need to assign data permissions of components in Pareto Data Analysis.

Select Sales in Dept., go to Data Authorization > Analysis Data > Data Analysis Model, and assign permissions of Pareto Data Analysis for Sales.

Demonstration

Any employee in Sales department logs into FineBI andcan view the directory in Business Application and dashboards in it.

The Rule for Effective Permissions

Because an employee may have multiple departments, positions, or roles and there are hierarchic structures among departments, you need to follow relevant permission logic when assigning permissions.

Canceling Permissions Separately

If you assign permissions of a subsidiary node for a parent department after assigning permissions of a parent node for a subsidiary department, a prompt will pop up when you cancel the permissions assigned to the subsidiary node: The following departments still have authorization permissions and need to cancel them separately
