Application Scenario

You can add custom labels for data resources, making it easier to view and manage data.

For example, you may want to display the business department to which the data belongs and the relevant personnel who use the data in Data Details. The following figure shows the effect.

Extended Field Adding and Management

1. Click the Management icon in Data Directory, choose Attribute Management> Extended Field to enter the Extended Field page, add and manage extended fields, as shown in the following figure.

2. Click Add Extended Field to enter the Add Extended Field page, as shown in the following figure.

3. Set a name for the new extended field, select a field type (Text, Value, Date, Single-Select User Drop-Down, Multi-Select User Drop-Down, Single-Select Drop-Down, or Multi-Select Drop-Down), enable/disable Required or Not, and enable/disable Searchable.

If you set Single-Select Drop-Down or Multi-Select Drop-Down, you can customize the option content and reorder the options, as shown in the following figure.

4. You cannot modify the field types of the added extended fields, but can move the field positions, modify the field names, redetermine whether the fields are required or not, redetermine whether the fields are searchable, and delete the fields, as shown in the following figure.

Extended Field Usage

When the IT personnel perform operations on data tables, indicators, dimensions, or business models, they can add the content of the extended fields.

You must enter the corresponding content for the required items. Otherwise, the field cannot be successfully added. When the type of an extended field is set to Single-Select User Drop-Down or Multi-Select Drop-Down, you can add the uername(s) in User Management in FineBI, as shown in the following figure.

• You can set extended fields when adding indicators, dimensions, and business models in Indicator Center.

• During the preview in Data Directory, you can click Data Details to modify the extended field(s).

After the modification, you can view the content in Data Details, as shown in the following figure.
