When using map-related charts in FineBI, the numeric fields of longitude and latitude originally stored in the business package can use "convert indicators to geographic roles". The text fields stored in the database are often provinces, cities, regions, etc. How to convert them to geographic roles and use them in the map?
Select the "drop-down> Geographic role" for the area to be analyzed, and five options appear: country, province/city/autonomous region, city, district/county, and custom picture. Select the corresponding geographic classification according to the corresponding dimension field.
Select"Geographic Role>Province" in the drop-down box of the "province" field, as shown in the figure below:
1) Enter the geographic role matching interface, FineBI will automatically match the geographic information built in the system according to the content of the city field, as shown in the following figure:
The system will automatically match geographic roles. If certain fields cannot be automatically matched, you can manually match or check whether they meet FineBI's matching rules. For details, see: Geographic Role Matching Rules.
2) Click "OK", and the"Province" field will be converted to the longitude and latitude fields of the geographic role, as shown in the figure below:
Drag "Province (Longitude)" and "Province (Longitude)" to the analysis area, as shown in the figure below:
For a detailed example, see: Create a filled map.
Note: There can be no special symbols like "/" or "\" in the data of the dimension field, otherwise the corresponding field cannot be matched when converted to a geographic role.
