For the geographic dimension of the text field, you can use the "Dimension Conversion to Geographic Role" to convert it to the geographic longitude and latitude for use. For the longitude and latitude numeric fields originally stored in the business package, how should they be used in FineBI?
FineBI provides the function of converting indicators to geographic roles. For the numerical latitude and longitude fields stored in the data table, they can be converted to geographic roles for use in geographic charts.
Use Demo data "FRDemo_GisMap".
Use the "FRDemo_GisMap" to make components, and the to-be-analyzed index fields "Longitude" and "Latitude" can be transformed to geographic roles.
1) Select "drop-down> Geographic Role> Latitude" for the "Latitude" field, as shown in the figure below:
2) Follow the same method to convert the "Longitude" field to a geographic role, as shown in the figure below after the conversion is completed:
After converting the indicators to geographic roles, map components can be made. Take the point map as an example:
Drag the "Longitude" and "Latitude" to the analysis area, select "Point Map", and drag the "Region" to the color bar, as shown in the following figure:
The global latitude ranges from -90 degrees to 90 degrees; while the longitude ranges from -180 degrees to 180 degrees.
When converting indicators to geographic roles, the latitude and longitude cannot be reversed. The error demonstration is shown in the following figure:
After the longitude and latitude is reversed, the map will be a straight line, as shown in the figure below:
