Dashboard Sharing Permissions

For dashboards made with enterprise data, direct sharing of the dashboards will leak data to a certain extent, so which users have the permission to share and which users can share it requires permission control.

3. Function introduction

·       FineBI has added dashboard sharing permission control, which provides administrators with permission control management, and supports controlling the display of different data permissions on the shared dashboard. The default is the data permission of the template creator, that is, the data permissions viewed by other shared users The data matches what the template maker sees.

·       By default, the dashboard sharing permission is not enabled. All users can share their own dashboards or share them with all users of the system. And sharing permission control does not provide hierarchical configuration, only the administrator can control it.

Example in this chapter: Assign permissions to user eoco, so that eoco can share the dashboard made by himself with the "Technical Support" department.

1. Set user classification

If the "Data Processing User"/"Data Analysis User" in "Platform User" is classified as " Unlimited Number ", you do not need to perform the operations in this section.

If the categories of "Data Processing Users" and "Data Analysis Users" in "Platform Users" are limited, you must perform the operations in this section, otherwise the dashboard cannot be created.

Log in to the data decision-making system with Superman, click "Manage > User", select the platform user, and add the user eoco to "BI Data Processing User"/"BI Data Analysis User", as shown in the following figure:

2. Enable Dashboard Sharing Control

Log in to the data decision-making system with Super Manager, click "Manage > Permission> Global Setting", open "Dashboard - Share Control", and click "Save". As shown below:

3. Configuring Dashboard Sharing Permissions

Log in to the data decision-making system with SuperAdmin, click "Manage > Permission>General Permission Configuration", and select the permission carrier "Department/Role/User". In this example, the user eoco is selected.

Select the "Share Authorization" tab to configure the "Use" permission of "Dashboard Share" for eoco, as shown in the following figure:

After the sharing permission is enabled, it cannot be assigned to anyone by default. You must perform "Permission Settings" to configure who the user can share the dashboard with, as shown in the following figure:

Note: Assigning permissions can only be set for departments/roles. If a user does not have a department or role, even if other users are not assigned the permission to share the user's dashboard, other users can share the dashboard with him by default.

1. Types of sharing

eoco logs in to the Decision-making System and clicks "Dashboard" to share the folders/dashboards in it with others.

If you share the folder with others, the templates in the dashboard are also shared with others by default.

2. Permission to use producer data

eoco can share the dashboard to authorized users (Cherry is selected in this example). You can choose whether to check "Use creator data permission" and click "OK", as shown in the following figure:

Note: In different versions, the "Use creator data permission" button is not completely checked by default.

3. Effect preview

User Cherry logs into the data decision system.

1) If the "Use creator data permission" button is checked, the dashboard data content that the shared user can see is the same as the data that the producer sees.

2) If you do not check the "Use creator data permission" button, the shared user can only see the dashboard data that they have permission to.

For a component without permission, prompt: You do not have permission to view the component data temporarily. If you have any questions, please contact the administrator .

3) Regardless of whether the "Use creator data permission" button is checked, if there is a jump link in the dashboard, the shared user can only see the content that they have permission to.

Folder data permission settings and the data permission settings of the dashboards in the folder are in different order, and the data permissions displayed after sharing are also different.

1) If the permission to use creator data is set on the folder first, as shown in the following figure:

For the dashboard under the folder, uncheck the permission to use producer data, as shown in the following figure:

Then the actual shared data permission is still displayed according to the settings of the dashboard under the folder, that is, the data permission of the shared person is displayed instead of the producer's data permission.

2) If you first set the use producer data permission for the dashboard under the folder, and then do not check the folder to use the producer data permission, the actual data permission after sharing is still displayed according to the settings of the folder, that is, it is not used. Producer data permissions instead show the shared data permissions.

3) After setting the folder sharing permission, add a new template in the folder, and add a template according to the settings in the folder.
