Added Lineage Level (used to display the lineage level of the current dataset and the maximum level limitation of the direct connect or extracted dataset) to Apply for Publication interface.
If you want to share data in an analysis subject of My Analysis with other users, you can publish data to Public Data through Apply for Publication.
Then, other users can use the data in Public Data. The published data is shown in the following figure.
Data in My Analysis that has applied for publication and obatined permissions will occur in the folder of Public Data.
The data creator or the parent data resource creator can apply for publication. Data for collaborated editing or use cannot be published by collaborative users.
A data table can only be published to one folder under Public Data.
1. Choose > Apply for Publication after editing data in an analysis subject of My Analysis.
2. Fill in information in Apply for Publication and click OK.
The items are explained in the following table.
Project Name
Explanation
Name
Name (cannot be modified) of the table applying for publication
Lineage Level
Lineage level of the published dataset (maximum level limitation X (defaults to 16) for direct connect or extracted datasets)
If the lineage level of a dataset is greater than (X-3) and less than or equal to X at the same time, it will be highlighted in yellow.
If the lineage level of the dataset is greater than X, it will be highlighted in red. In this case, the dataset can still be applied for publication and successfully published. But it will be used with limits. For details, see Lineage Analysis.
Directory
Path under which a data table can be published. You can select the folder within permissions in Public Data.
The application can still be submitted if you do not fill in Directory. In this case, the admin needs to select a path during approval.
Remarks
Remarks for the admins to view during review (non-mandatory field)
If you have management permission for the folder under the path to be published, the data will be published successfully without the approval of the admin.
A record is generated in Publication Management.
1. If you do not have management permission in Permission Management of System Management for the folder under the path to be published, the application needs to be approved by the admin. ..
2. The admin finds the data that has applied for publication under System Management > Publication Management. ..
3. Click Process to view the table information applied for publication, set Directory, and select Application Suggestions. For example, choose Agree to Publish > OK.
A record is generated after publication. For details, see section "With Data Management Permission for the Folder to Be Published".
Choose Public Data > Function Data to view the published data.
You can still edit the self-service dataset that has been successfully published.
If the admin sets the permission (available for you) for the published self-service dataset, the permission set for the published self-service dataset is also effective to you.
You can rename and edit the published self-service dataset in My Analysis, not in Public Data.
You can cancel the pulished self-service dataset in My Analysis, Publication Management of System Management, and Public Data.
After the table is unpublished, other users cannot view the sub-tables and components based on the table and components based on the sub-tables. Unpublication is equivalent to deleting the source table, which can be normally used after republication. The contents (like association relations and table permissions) set according to the originally published self-dataset are not reserved, except those created within the self-service dataset.
You can unpublish the data applied for publication.
If the admin does not approve the application, you can unpublish directly.
If the admin has approved to publish, you can:
1. continue to unpublish.
2. After submitting the application to unpublish:
If you have the management permission for the published dataset, you can unpublish directly without the admin's approval and submitting the application to the admin. ..
If you do not have the management permission for the published dataset, you can unpublish after being approved by the admin. The prompt is shown in the following figure.
After the data is unpublished, the corresponding dataset in Function Data of Public Data is removed.
Choose > Unpublish in Public Data. A prompt pops up as follows.
Click OK to unpublish the self-dataset successfully.
Choose System Management > Publication Management as the admin and click Process to unpublish the published table.
You will receive a notification for the unpublication.
With the editing permission in My Analysis but without the management permission in Public Data for the self-dataset: edit data in My Analysis.
With the managment permission in Public Data and the editing permission in My Analysis for the self-dataset: click Enter My Analysis in Public Data to edit data.
