    Application Scenario

You may often first use statistical charts in a dashboard to figure out business problems at a macro level, and then use a drilling linkage on a page to drill down to locate specific problems step by step. What is drilling? For example, an axis chart is used to display the number of clients in each province, and you can click data of a specific province to drill down to view the number of clients in each city of that province.

This document introduces two scenarios of drilling, the effects of which are shown in the following figure. For details about the procedures, see section "Data Drilling."

    Fixed Drill Order

In this document, the drill order is Region > First class channel name > Secondary channel name > Three-level channel name.

As shown in the following figure, clicking Cambodia allows you to view the page views of each first class channel in Cambodia, and clicking New Media Marketing shows the page views of each secondary channel under New Media Marketing in Cambodia, and so on.

    Unfixed Drill Order

If the drill order is not fixed, you can choose any field to drill. For example, clicking Cambodia allows you to skip the secondary channel and directly drill down to view the page views of the three-level channel in Cambodia.
